Christmas Lights is my very first Cell Phone Novel (CPN).

Dedication to toohottobetrue2 since her story was the first CPN I read and she encouraged me to write this story in CPN format, driving me forward with deadlines, proofreading, encouraging and I don't know, just being supportive and sweet xD

We both decided to write our CPNs together so do check that amazing girl's book, Girlfriend Blues.

If you don't know what a Cell Phone Novel means, let me clear it up for you.

The cell phone novel is a remarkably unique new form of writing, fusing serialized online storytelling with simple haiku-like poetic technique and with prose narrative. Each chapter or page is at most 200 words, but usually averaging around 50-100 words, using white space, line breaks, fragments, free flow poetry, deeply personal thoughts, emotions, and onwards. As it is about the literary culture, form and style, there is no restriction of genres or content.

(extract from the website/blog created by @Takatsu who brought CPN to English literature - according to CellPhoneNovel)

blurb:

Christmas.

Everyone remembers it as a day of festivity, joy and gingerbread.

Artis Hart remembers Christmas as the day she lost faith in love.

Ethan Brewer, the boy who loved fries dipped in butterscotch milkshake, the boy who smiled shyly, the boy who made corny jokes, the boy who had forest eyes.

The boy who broke her heart.

The funny thing is she doesn't know why they parted ways that Christmas Eve.

Now eight years down the lane, Artis sets out to find Ethan and demand what actually went wrong that night.

Tangled between broken memories, new changes, unspoken words and two different time periods...

Will a simple curiosity turn into a second chance?

Or remain a beautiful disaster?

genre:

romance
teen fiction
young adult

fin: 6th January, 2019

characters:

Artis Hart - the narrator. She's 16 during 2009. So eight years down the road, at 2017, she's 24.

Ethan Brewer - He had just turned 18 at 2009. So now at 2017, he's 26.

warning:

The format of CPNs are different. So wattpad sometimes transmits it in a weird fashion in which certain letters are either missing or there are unwanted cuts in the lines. Please ask me if you see it and get confused.

The story starts with a 2017 scene and from there, it goes back and forth between 2009 and 2017. I think I cleared it well. If you're still confused, comment at the respective chapter.

And, all the quote/word/text arts in this story are written and edited by me. I would seriously appreciate it if you people don't steal or even 'borrow' it since that's considered plagiarizing too :)

Do not copy guys. If I found you did, start counting the carriages in your funeral. I'm serious.
