"I wanted to brand the stars into my shoulder blades to prove they had ever been a part of me. I put grass between my teeth and stared up at the night sky and wished the moon would kiss my skin just so I could feel warm again.
Things break quickly around me. Hearts and bones both. I was under an empty sky and trying to shout the voices down. I sat on a bridge and did not jump. It was fine enough to have the threat of jumping before me."
