George’s POV

I looked at their intertwined hands in disgust. I had asked her not to get close with him, and she had done the complete opposite. She met my eye, and I could see that she was barely concealing her hatred. I looked away, feeling guilty for being angry. Merlin, why did I have to cheat on her? She looked even more beautiful than usual, and I wanted her by my side.

Harry rushed forward, engulfing Olivia in a hug. Fortunately, she had to let go of the ferret’s hand to hug Harry. But Ferret smirked at me while she wasn’t looking. Fred saw it also, but he didn’t say anything. He was still kind of upset about what I did to Olivia. But it wasn’t nearly as close to how angry Mother is. I hadn’t realized just how much she cared for Olivia.

When Harry stepped back, Hermione skipped up to Olivia’s side. She glared at Ferret, but smiled at Olivia. “So Liv, how has your summer been?”

Olivia smiled, her wonderful smile, and she glanced at Ferret. “It’s been fun. Draco came down to visit me.”

Hermione looked between them in confusion. “What about George? Why would your friend come down instead of your boyfriend?”

Olivia raised her eyebrow, and I heard her voice in my head. ‘She doesn’t know?’ I just shook my head, but she still didn’t look at me.

“George did come down, but it was only for a few days. I guess he wanted to get back to his other girlfriend quickly.” She kept a straight face the whole time, but Ferret grabbed her hand again when she was finished. Hermione looked back at me in disbelief, but I wouldn’t meet her eye.

There was an awkward silence, in which I shuffled my feet, keeping my head down. I glanced up and saw that Olivia and Ferret were looking at each other, and I knew Olivia was talking to him through her telepathy. I was about to ask about it, when a low voice cut through the silence, coming from behind me.

“There you are, Draco. I’ve been looking for you. Olivia, you have a visitor in the tent. Come, we need to head back anyway.” I spun around and saw Lucius Malfoy glaring at my father. Draco bumped his shoulder against me as he passed, but Olivia was careful to not make contact with me. But I reached my arm out to stop her. I need to speak with her.

Right as I was about to touch her arm, however, she yanked her arm out of reach, turning to glare at me. Ferret stopped also, turning to look at her questioningly. She just shook her head, her face softening. She turned to Ferret and whispered something to him, and without giving him a chance to respond, she turned to me.

“What do you want, George?” Olivia’s face had gone emotionless again, and this time her eyes didn’t betray her. I heard the rest of the family walk away so we could have some privacy, but Mr. Malfoy didn’t move at all.

“Olivia, I’m sorry. I really am. I know I did something horrible to you. But why did you go to Malfoy? He cheated on you, also.” Ferret stepped in front of Olivia so I couldn’t see her. He looked extremely angry, and Olivia saw it. She gently placed her hand on his shoulder, trying to calm him down. But he didn’t even pay attention to her.

“That was in the past, Weasel, and she’s forgiven me. Also, I’ve liked her since the first time I saw her. You, however, only started to pay attention to her because of a bet. Were the 20 Galleons worth it, Georgie?” Olivia dropped her hand, and Ferret turned back to her. He took both her hands, but she kept her eyes on me. I was suddenly very grateful everyone left.

“Is that true?” Olivia whispered, only low enough for the three of us to hear. When I didn’t answer, she turned her back to me and left quickly, with Ferret right behind him. But Mr. Malfoy stayed behind. He glared at me and stepped close.

“Don’t come in between Olivia and my son’s relationship, or you’ll be answering to Me.” he sneered, and, spinning on his heel, he left me alone. Without lifting my head, I walked back to the tent. I didn’t want to talk to anyone, and I sure as hell didn’t want to see Harry.
