Zosia's POV
I could feel Ollie's hand going clammy in mine as we approached the café where I had planned to meet Colette. I leant up to kiss him, his shaking breath tickling on my cheek, in an effort to calm him down.
"Ollie, relax. It'll be fine."
"Sure?" He asked nervously, like a young child on his first day of school.
I gave him a little nod and a quick peck on the cheek before striding into the pretty café and over to where the woman who I thought of as an aunty stood. I hadn't seen her in so long. I missed her smile, her laughter and her friendship. I just hoped that she and Ollie would get along.
I tapped her on the shoulder and she span round, a beaming smile breaking over her features as she realised who it was.
"Zosia!!! You've up so much!" She said, emotion overwhelming in her voice.
"I looks the same as I've always done Colette." I laughed.
"But you've never had such a handsome man before." She gestures Ollie with a giggle before giving him a hug, much to his astonishment.
"Hey. Hands off!" I chuckled, before i introduced her to Ollie, " Ollie, this is Colette, my amazing Godmother and all round friend. Colette, this is Ollie, my boyfriend and housemate."
We spent the next hour laughing and talking over steaming mugs of coffee and delicious slices of cake. It was going so well and I was so happy that two of the most important people in my life were getting on so well. Actually, maybe a little too well. Much to my embarrassment, they'd began exchanging 'hilarious' stories, each involving me in some embarrassing situation. So far, they'd talked of my drunken karaoke nights, me tripping over a patient's trolley and falling into Jac's lap at the nurses' station and me lap dancing on Santa at a work do last year ( vodka and eggnog don't mix, my friend). Their friendly banter carried on for another half an hour until I caught a brief glance of the time on my watch.
"Crap! Ollie we need to go." I began collecting my bag and coat before turning round to hug Colette. " Our shift starts in five."
Colette, it seemed, was working the same shift as is as she too had to go. We arrived at the hospital one after the other and parted in the lifts, Colette went to Keller, and Ollie and I to Darwin.
Nine hours later and Ollie and I had an hour left to go. So far is assisted Jac with a full lung and heart transplant (it was amazing! So fascinating and such a miracle of a procedure) and had ordered an Echo and ECG for several patients.
I walked back to the nurses station to check some test results and accidentally bumped into Ollie. I apologised with a chuckle and carried on my way. My pager beeped to tell me that the results had come through, and as I put my hand in my pocket to pull it out, my hand brushed past a slip of paper. Intrigued, I unfolded it and had a look for any text.
" Meet me in the store cupboard in five minutes. 😉 - O "
I laughed before crumpling the piece of paper up and chucking it in the bin. Ollie must have slipped it in when I hit him. I checked my watch and slipped off down the corridor, the store cupboard a little up ahead. I knocked on the door gently, incase anyone else had had the same idea, and entered when there was no reply. Ollie hadn't arrived yet, so I sat down on a pile of boxes and waited. After a couple of minutes, Ollie walked in.
"Sorry about the delay but I got caught up discussing a patient's diagnosis with- oh." He said apologetically, before I cut off the last of his sentence with a kiss that caused him to make a little moan of pleasure.
Our actions continued, gradually progressing and rising in heat and magnitude before, to our surprise, the fort opened hastily and a couple, heavily engaged in actions of their own, tumbled in. Quickly, Ollie and I hid behind a laundry basket, trying to suppress our giggles, before peeking out to see who it was.
Ollie's POV
"Jac and Rossinni?" I whispered to Zosia, flabbergasted at this change of events.
"Shush!" She giggled, trying to stay quiet herself.
We began to realise that we were trapped. There was no way we could reveal ourselves now. We'd have to stay and wait it out.
A slight noise of appreciation could be heard and, somehow intrigued, I glanced above the laundry trolley, my eyes widening as the took in the scene before me. There was Jac, ice queen of holby, in a umm 'compromising' position with Matteo. I ducked back down; I couldn't bare to see any more. My face must have shown my shock because Zosia caught on to what was happening and her face paled a little. She moved slightly to cuddle up next to me, her eyes sparkling in the flickering light, her smile filling me with joy.
*squeak*
The small movement caused the trolley to move forward slightly, its wheels scrapping against the floor. Shit.
"What the hell are you two doing walking in like that!" Screamed Jac, in comedic unison with Matteo.
"It's not what it looks like!" He yelled.
"Well," Began Zosia, unsure of what to say, "technically, you walked in on us."
I groaned as Jac shoved us out the door.
"And don't you ever, EVER speak of this. To anyone!" She yelled as we power-walked, giggling, back to the ward.
"Ah finally. I'd wondered where everyone had left me." A sarcastic voice rang out from behind the nurses' station.
"Sorry Mo." I apologised, still trying to control my giggles.
"Where were you anyone? And where is everyone?" She asked.
"Well," spluttered Zosia, " Ollie and I had umm well snuck off to the store cupboard to you know-"
"Cheeky." Muttered Mo, although the she didn't sound that surprised.
Zosia continued. "When we were interrupted by another couple, who were heatedly engaged."
"And who was this 'other couple'?" Asked Mo intrigued as she stuffed a mince pie in her mouth. She was taking the whole ' eating for two' thing quite seriously.
"Jossini." I coughed at the same time as Zosia.
"Raylor."
"Who?" Mo was still confused.
"Jac and Matteo." Whispered Zosia as footsteps began echoing from down the corridor.
Mo's eyebrows shot up her forehead but before she could question any further, and icy voice boomed from behind us.
"Get back to work!" Said the Ice Queen, her position regained once more.
"It's the end of the shift." Pointed out Zosia, much to Jac's annoyance.
"Then bug of home!" She said before storming over to her office and slamming the door shut.
Zosia and I backed away to the locker room, just in time to hear Matteo Rossini chasing after Jac muttering "Elsa. Elsa. Where are you my dear Icey?"
We finally fell onto the floor laughing and chuckling till our sides hurt.
"Well," said Zosia once we'd recovered, "that was awkward."
A.N. Once again, sorry for the late update, I'm really not very good at this. I hope this chapter is okay and I will try to get my act together soon. What did you think of it? Please vote, comment and share as I'm not getting many views at the moment.
