8:37 AMThe bitter scent of coffee enveloped you as the hint of vanilla and small talk filled the air. Caramel and mint colored walls enclosed the small area which was adorned with donut posters that read the name of the cafe, "10 Donuts", and beige tables accompanied by olive tinted chairs or benches. Towards the front of the shop was a counter, stained a tawny brown and facing a window, with grey stools tucked neatly underneath with exceptions for the one currently occupied.
You straightened your apron as you poured the dark liquid into a cup. The steam felt warm against your hands as you placed the lid on the piping beverage, shuddering because you hated the taste of just plain espresso.
"Hey, (Y/l/n)! You think you could go any slower with these orders!?" A man yelled from the back and you flinched at his words. You've never really been fond of yelling. It was always so sudden...and directed towards you.
"S-sorry, sir. I'll work on it." You replied weakly, speeding up your prepping processes, almost dropping a to-go cup.
A gentle hand gripped your shoulder and you glanced to see manicured nails and kind smile. "Don't listen to him. It's only your first day and you're doing awesome, (Y/n)."
You smiled at your co-worker in response, mumbling a 'thanks' as she swept up the cup of plain espresso and delivered it. You watched her bring the order to the man occupying the stool, his appearance sparking your curiosity much more than the other customers: Ripped jeans and black studded Converse, dark gray hoodie with a light gray logo on it which you couldn't quite read from where you were standing, a black leather vest covered in spikes along with the denim shoulders, two pins and a meme patch stitched on with red thread occupied the right side of his vest, his arms showed various, random tattoos and on his neck was a tattoo of an anarchy symbol. 'Kind of intimidating...'
His mask stood out most of all. Mechanical goggles "blinked" various emotes and eye expressions; you thought it was safe to assume he used LEDs for that. The bottom half of his face was hidden behind a leather, spike studded mask that fit quite swimmingly. The only part of his face that was visible was a small portion of his forehead, covered slightly in stray light blond strands of hair.
"Orders, (Y/n)!"
You flinched again causing a mug next to you to drop. You jumped, covering your mouth with your hands, while your eyes widened at the shattered pieces. 'Way to go, (Y/n)'.
"Shit! I-I'm so sorry I didn't mean to, it-"
"Fucking hell, (Y/n)." Your boss whispered before raising his voice to a shout. "Hurry and clean it up!"
Shaking, you quickly grabbed a broom, red-faced because of all the eyes focused on you. Well, eyes and one pair of mechanical goggles that flashed (O O) then flickered back to what seemed to be the default (X X).
'I'm so stupid'. You thought, heart racing as you swept up the remaining pieces onto a dustpan. 'Stupid store, stupid boss, stupid work, stupid...me'. You sighed aloud, once you were in the back tossing the unwanted shards of porcelain. 'It's gonna be a long day'.

5:53 PM
It was seven minutes until closing time. Boss had you work the closing shift and gave Lydia the rest of the day off at three-thirty. He, himself, left around four leaving the rest of the work to you. It wasn't a really busy day, though, it never was. Only a few people came in, you remembered most of them, specifically because a lot of them had similar clothing. Some with hoodies reading the logo "Dedsec" on the front. Others with t-shirts and caps adorned with the same trademark. 'Must be a popular brand here'.

Fanfiction"Tool." You muttered, rolling your eyes playfully. His display flashed (- -) as he coated his words in sarcasm, "Good one." A moment passed before it suddenly flickered to question marks (? ?). "Wait, you meant that in a literal sense, right?" B...
