An Author’s Note
A/N- I do not own these characters- they are other people’s inventions, and Sherlock was created by the wonderful Arthur Conan Doyle. This subcanon extends from the modernized BBC adaptation of his works, and the song that inspired this work is Somebody to Die for by Hurts. The storyline, however, is mine. Unlike the other two in my series, this has been written in third person for purposes that will make more sense as the story progresses.
Also, this book is not based on series 3- though there may be some similarities and paralleled quotes at some points in the book, I had the entire (except for a couple of requests) plot in mind before series 3 was out. The prologue was written before His Last Vow aired.
