Overwatch x Reader [on hold]

Young!Genji x Fem!Reader

It was a New Years party at the Overwatch base... But you, and you only were forced to go on a mission. "ON NEW YEARS?!" You may ask. The answer is yes. You were given it and expected to do it.

You found the mission fairly easy as everyone was distracted by pretty displays of fireworks.

You sat in the airship alone, looking out at all the lit (😂😂👌) cities. You didn't notice the single tear rolling down your cheek. The first year you never got to see the fireworks, and the first year you didn't spend it with your family; Overwatch.

You must wonder what I mean by 'family'.

When you were 13 you were in the centre of a war infested area. When the commander found you, you drop kicked him in the stomach. Gabriel always liked you for that, due to your parents being dead, they took you in because you would of gone to an orphanage. Gabriel kept you off Blackwatch for your own safety, but you never go down without a fight. You stole files to find out the mission and do the mission better than and before the others; apart from McCree he was the best at his job and noticed you right away, he came with you a lot because he saw you as a little sister.

Now you was going on your first mission solo. You were finding in it weird without McCree making puns about anything he could see and think of.

You sigh and rest your head back.

"Miss, we are here in Hanamura, Japan."

"Ah... Thank you" you got up and traveled over to the Shimada 'Castle'. You see the guards distracted by the fireworks, lucky you. You hide in the shadows and arrive at the living quarter of the leader and his two sons. You run and watch a meeting through a window.

"You know these fireworks are beautiful!" You hear a voice behind you. You fall back into the bushes, luckily no one but the speaker noticed "it's also rude to trespass"

"What you you know about being rude. This is the fucking Yakuza"

"You have a point, firework" the voice steps into the light and you notice green hair.

"Who are y-" he covers your mouth as a guard walks by. You both duck into the bushes.

"Genji. Bu-" you back up, he's one of the sons. You move back into the wall.

"Stay away" you cover your mouth, maybe you were too loud.

"I was going to say 'but I'm going to help you' but never mind you damned yourself." You smile as he spoke.

You lean forward towards him, he looks into your (e/c) eyes.

"Watch me get away with it" the guard looks in the direction then carries on walking.

"What? How?" He looked at the guard then at you.

"I'm (Y/n), nicknamed; Lucky." You smile and look away from him "just look how lucky I am to meet you" you look back at him and giggle as a pink tint appears on his cheeks.

"I think we will get along fine" he leans forward as well and you don't budge. You tilt your head.

"Are you flirting with me?" You ask.

"You did first"

"No I didn't, you said you would help me. I wasn't flirting" you puff your cheeks and look away.

"Whatever, come on" he grabs your hand and climbs the wall. You positioned yourselves on the roof and he drags you so you have a view of the fireworks, lighting the sky.

"Gen-"

"Shh... Just watch... I'll tell you all the info you need to know."

You looked up at the sky and back at Genji.

"Why are you helping me? What do you get out of this?" You whisper.

"I can't let a pretty girl struggle" he chuckles and you blush

"I-I'm not pretty and I wasn't struggling." You cross your arms and you then get hugged. Arms around your torso invite themselves to the cuddle. You lean back into Genji and you look at him..

"No you're not pretty... You're gorgeous." He leans down and kisses your lips. You freeze for a second.

You flip yourself over and lean into him. You sat up and gasped.

"Shit shit shit shit... I'm so so sorry... I... Dads gonna kill me...." You cover your mouth.

"First kiss?" You nod "Be glad it was me... I'm not a creep."

"Can you tell me what I need to know because I must go back home..."  You look down.

He explains and you ask a few questions. You get your answers and peck his cheek.

"Come visit me again!"

"I will." You smile and run away.

Years later:

You were going to visit Genji again. You two got over that first kiss and became best friends. You only saw each other 2-3 a month but you kept in touch.

"You dishonour us" That was Hanzo.... You run to see where Genji was and you see his lying on the floor covered in stab wounds.

"GENJI!" You ran towards him and tears formed in your eyes "stay with me..."

"(Y- Y/N)... Don't cry..." You burst into more tears. He weakly wiped them and you kissed his forehead.

You turn on your com link "Mercy I need you NOW"

"I'm on my way to your location soon."

You hold his hand.

"Please stop crying..." He pauses "I want you remember you with a smile..."

You hug him, he manages one arm around you.

You silently cry into his chest and you look up at him.

"Kiss me" he whispers. You lean forward and kiss him, he tries to kiss back but is too weak. "Know that I love you"

"I love you too"

"Y/N... You need a break." Gabriel speaks as you ignore him, eye bags and half shut eye lids where only a few signs of tiredness. Next thing you knew, you were crying.

"I'm just tired of loosing everything" you cry out. Gabriel walks over and hugs you. "I must look so weak and stupid right now, huh dad?"

"You will never be weak to me" he turns to see one of the soldiers nod to him "I have to go. Stay safe and get some rest"

You almost crawl to bed and you pass out instantly.
