Let's go skinny dipping
Peel the thickened skin from your back
Strip away your cloak of insecurities
Toss your calloused armor into the water;
Jump in
Swim, sink, soar, surf
Make waves, not ripples
Float on your back, close your eyes
See how far the tide takes you
And bathe in the stillness of your thoughts;
Wash away the doubts on your scalp
Scrub the hurt from your skin
Dive down deep
Slay the sea monster, whose tentacles persevere;
We'll make ripples and tidal waves
We'll float in the smooth, glassy seas
We'll wash up on grainy shores
And drink the cool night air;
When the water starts to smart
And you emerge raw, but clean
Soon you'll say to me
Let's go skinny dipping
You'll be my pale moonlight
And I'll be your starry night
I'll guide you home, darling
And I'll make you right.
