How To Be An Emo/Scene Kid

A really important step for looking like an emo or a scene kid is the hair. There are many emo or scene hairstyles, but you basically need choppy layers, and side swept bangs. Here is a good example:

You can dye your hair if you want to, but black hair is very common.

Next part of looking emo or scene is how you dress. Most scene or emo kids shop at Hot Topic, Spencers, Dolls Kill, Blue Banana, etc.

Emos dress differently than scene kids, so I will specify how they dress so you will understand the difference.

Emos wear a lot of black/dark clothing. Band tees are a MUST. Black, tight jeans are also crucial. Vans/Converse are also very common. Here is an example:

Scene kids dress a little similar, but there are a lot more bright, neon colors and a lot of accessories. You can still wear band tees, but the bands on your shirt will be different. Colorful skinny jeans, tutus, colorful kandi bracelets, and decorated Vans/Converse are very common in the scene community. Here is an example:

As you can see, there are a lot of neon and bright colors, different from how an emo dresses. Also, scene hair tends to be bigger, fluffier, and colorful, like this:

Both scene and emo kids wear facial and body piercings, and eyeliner/dark makeup, but it may vary depending on what you prefer. Some people put on very colorful makeup (most scene kids) so here are examples:
