The sky's tears shot from the grey clouds and flew, landing on my back that was currently guarded by my dark blue sweatshirt. I brought no umbrella with me- I was obviously not expecting it to rain. The droplets of water were sharp and felt like tiny knives poking, piercing, and prickling their way onto my tan legs. I saw Dove's house and dashed toward the front door. Above it, there was a canopy that kept the rain from going any closer. I pulled my skirt down to where I could hide some of the scars I had received from the numerous amount of sports I had played throughout my life.

Later, when I managed to clean off all the dirt that stuck onto my shoes, I pulled my long, dark brown hair into a ponytail and tucked a few strands of hair that laid in front of my ears behind my black glasses. After doing that, I knocked on the door and waited for someone to respond. I peeked around the brick column that supported the canopy to check if one of Dove's or one of her parent's cars were there.

My grey-blue eyes spotted a dark silver car that I had never seen before. It looked to be a Mazda with some personal touches to it. For starters, there were way too many bumper stickers. My lips quirked up as I saw a black one with a yellow smiley face. Immediately, I recognised the familiar logo to be that of Nirvana- one of my favourite childhood bands. As a twelve year old who hated pop music like One Direction and Justin Bieber, I heard their song, Lithium and felt like a magnet being dragged toward something new and intriguing. On my thirteenth birthday, I discovered that their lead singer, Kurt Cobain had died over two decades ago, I tried to find a different band to listen to just so I wouldn't want to see them in concert. Either way, the band was still incredible.

The door opened and shoved me out of my thoughts as if someone pushed me with a great force. I maneuvered my eyes away from the car and turned to see my best friend's younger brother, Joseph, staring at me with his big brown eyes.

Without hesitation or giving me anytime to think, the boy leapt into my arms. I took a step back, but still managed to catch him. "Avalon!" He exclaimed cheerily.

I let a groan escape my mouth as all of his weight finally hit me. "Hey, Joe!"

I heard footsteps approaching and I set Joseph down. Expecting it to be Dove, I perkily popped my head up and was met by dull blue eyes and a mop of blonde hair. Despite the fact that the lack of emotion was obvious, I still wasn't too uncomfortable around thanks to Joseph.

"Avalon, meet my cousin, Apollo." Dove chimed in chirpily.

Apollo swept his dirty blonde hair out of his face and stuck out his hand for me to shake.

I shook his hand softly and feel Dove's hand snake over to my shoulder. We had been best friends ever since preschool. Our parents had forced my older brother to babysit Dove. My parents also decided to bring me to tag along.

Brushing off the thoughts I had at the moment, I let go of Apollo's hand followed Dove up to her room. I waved bye to Joseph and gave Apollo a small grin.

I had to admit, Apollo did seem rather good looking. But I had no clue who he was, or what he was like.
