Joseph Bonaparte had it all, he was the eldest brother of one of the most powerful leaders in the world. Napoleon Bonaparte, even though the French overthrew Louis I, this young man Napoleon, came to power, visioned as a dictator, but to the French, the return of a King, or an Emperor, the year Napoleon came to the throne of France, he was focused on establishing a French Empire. Joseph was apart of this, shortly after his brother was crowned Emperor of France, he became King of Naples in 1806 and was widely celebrated there. He had great power there, even though Napoleon only gave the title to him so Naples can be used as a puppet state for his Empire. Joseph was quite shocked and angered by this, even though his divine loyalty to his brother was known far internationally and something of this if it were to come out it'd shock the whole world.
