Race

Life seems a race

So straight ahead we go;

Going at our own pace,

Eyes stray from high to low.

The length can be short and rough,

And will rarely be described as fair

But our experiences will make us tough

when we show love, courage, and care.

Those memories that are held so dear

Of strangers, families, and friends

Will remain forever near

Till every thought ends.

How, When, and Why, when in vain,

Are the questions we always wonder.

Our insecurities, suffering and pain

From time to time we always ponder.

Who do we run from?

What do we wish to see?

Do we avoid by being smart or dumb?

Or are we actually avoiding Me?

All that's needed to be done

Is something so simple and great;

It can be considered fun

And that's to appreciate!

Now life, hither and thither we stray

So we beg for forgiveness and help

But you give us no chance to run away

Until we succeed in self-help.

The length will shorten every minute of the day,

As we reach there, whatever way we do.

Enjoy every second, no need to pay,

Just make sure to smile for it all to remain true.

Our eyes may wander from left to right

While we go at our pace,

But everything done won't do without a fight

In our sorrowful, yet miracle, race.
