"what's there to discuss, Sage?" he doesn't even look at her and continues walking.

"i'm sorry for not paying attention when you tutored me in math." she doesn't exactly mean it but it is the only way to get his attention.

"i know you're not, Sage. i'm not dumb."

"i didn't say that. and i really am."

"not directly. and i can differentiate between someone being sorry and someone pretending to be."

"Jace, you're not listening to me."

"sure i am."

"you're not even looking at me!"

"you're not worth looking at."

He enters a class and a heartbroken Sage is left behind. tears are building in her eyes and she runs to the girls restroom and starts crying. for the second time in her life she's crying because of a boy.
