No claim to any starting ideas, I just kinda wanted to write out scenes that would look really cool and interesting to hear in an actual story. I'll probably never use them, so go ahead, Reader, and take them. Use these to make your story a better...
The main OCs will be Partridge and Chasm. (my own OCs, of course)
The Original crew doesn't make it out of the mountain, instead, they find themselves in another plane of existences, another barrier.
The Place -- which has no name yet -- is akin to a forest on a small planet. You come back to where you started if you go too far. (like the movie Caroline)
The skin on the trees are dark brown, similar to the color 'Taupe' or alike a near black brown. Their leaves are a brilliant red and red-orange, intermixed into a sweet, light cherry red, they also grow green flowers of their own. The ground is the exact opposite, navy blue grass with litters of pool party blue flowers in a variety of hues.

There are also randomly placed crystals that had grown about. (as a reference)
The UT group had gotten separated, and Frisk finds themselves meeting/spying on a new monster they've never seen before -- a male goat skeleton, yet, also a fire element from the sight of neon light blue flamed hair and face.
Partridge was singing to himself when he noticed a set of eyes on him. Growing into the usual annoyed persona, he was surprised to meet the eyes of Frisk, and promptly stood, tried to intimidate them, and ran away.
Frisk was Determined to follow them.
Frisk finds a break in the trees and finds a secluded circle of trees with spikes of crystal:

As Frisk wonders in, unafraid, she does not find who she had ran after, but instead finds the endless gaze of a little girl made out of wisps.
Plan:
The UT comp realizes that this place is NOT outside, but some type of alternate Universe. There is no way out, not that the residents (the two OCs) know of. They are both surprised to meet new people/monsters.
In the forest, there is no connection to the outside worlds, all except an old and golden gramophone that plays all by itself -- one song after the other, no stop or pause or skip. Some type of magical instrument that no one knows how to turn off -- though, no one would want to, it is very quiet in the forest, so the different songs are appreciated to an extent.
With some days stuck inside the forest, Sans manages to rip himself out of the AU with the help of Alphys (Mettaton is gone, where, no one knows).
