Author's Note: Yo, I'm not dead. Again. Third person POV.
Months had passed and the torture of planning a wedding was truly shown. Many disagreements took place during the five-ish month time period. Arthur thought a wedding in a chapel in Britain would be nice—he was traditional— whereas Alfred thought this extravagant wedding in a ballroom in New York was a better idea. That was just one of many examples. But, finally the wedding was planned, date was set, wedding invitations out. Everything was finally going right for the two. And with only a month to go, they just had to take a break and relax. And since it was July, they went to California and decided to enjoy the beach.
Also known as Alfred getting a photoshoot in California and getting some personal time off.
That was the sad thing, even through planning a whole wedding, the romantic Frenchman showed no mercy, still giving Alfred photoshoots around the world. This pretty much only led to more disagreements and arguments between the already stressed couple.
"Do you have to go to Berlin?"
"Yeah, Gilbert says if I'm good I could have a huge article written about me in Vanity Fair or Vogue... I can't remember, something with a V!"Alfred was really excited, plus, the more publicity that was given, the more Alfred's name was out there, like he said.
Arthur groaned, banging his head on their bedroom wall. Alfred stared with a raised eyebrow. "Okay then... But seriously, I need to do it. I need this. And we need the extra money. For the wedding. And it'll be maybe a two day thing, it's not too much."
Arthur hit his head on the wall twice more. Alfred sighed and hugged Arthur, he kissed his now hurting head. "But! It was last chance to check out where we wanted to have the wedding! If we miss that we might not be able to have our wedding there! And then what?"
Alfred mentally slapped himself in the face, son of a bitch. Why that day? That weekend? Why were weddings so damn hard.
"I'll make it work babe, no need to worry whatsoever. And please don't be mad at me, I don't have a choice here.. It's still my job."
Arthur sighed, Alfred being right, he didn't have a choice. "Just...Make sure you're here for it, or else."
Alfred splashed around in the water, falling backwards in it occasionally. Arthur surveyed from the shore, listening to music through his earbuds and reading a book.
Alfred enjoyed the water, but it wasn't as fun without Arthur.
"ARTHUR!" Alfred yelled out, laughing a bunch.
Arthur looked up worriedly, thinking his idiot fiancé was dying but no, he was staring at him from the water. Arthur raised an eyebrow, "WHAT THE BLOODY HELL DO YOU WANT?"
Alfred already had his voice strained—Arthur more than him though— so he just decided to get out of the water and approach Arthur."Get in the water. With me."
"You look nice, it's a very nice bathing suit. Frog made it I suppose?"
"You'd be correct. But stop avoiding my proposition, get in the water with me!"
"No."
"Yes."Arthur groaned, glaring at Alfred. How did he have decision over his life?
"What if I lost the ring in the water?"
"Take it off."
"It's so expensive! Do you not even care?!"Alfred rolled his eyes, "The ring isn't going to get lost in the water."
"Really? You're sure? How would you know? Good Lord, you've been engaged before haven't you! What was his name? Where was he from and where is he right now?!"Jeez, Arthur calm down.
"I don't know, calm yourself. I haven't even been engaged before. But yes, I'm sure. You're not going to lose your ring, c'mon stop using excuses! Stop being such a loser and come to the water!"
