~Kevin~
Her.
Is that- is it Anthisha? But how did she end up here? Is it really her? Is it? I hope not.
Anthisha used to have a bob, her hair flying all over places, like bits of yarn glued onto her head. I remember laughing all day over that weird haircut.
This girl's was now longer, pulled into a long braid.
Not to mention she looked freaking hot now.
Anthisha brings back memories of the times I don't want to think about. I shift my gaze away, promising myself that the girl isn't Anthisha.
"Kevin?", the teacher called. I snap back to her. She smiles sweetly and I return it. "Take your seat."
"Thank you ma'am," I reply and look across the room to find my seat. If only. There wasn't any.
Gone are the days when students used to leave the tables when I wanted a seat.
I need to bring myself back to the present.
I fidget nervously in my place, not knowing what to do next. Sensing my discomfort, the teacher called out to a boy in the second-last bench.
"Chandra! Suppose you can lend some space to our new student?"
He gave a nonchalant shrug. and sighed,"Yes ma'am."
I made my way to the seat, looking down to avoid all those unflinching stares at me. I sat down and they still didn't stop.
My day is just so bad already.

"Math. Can I even explain my love for it? It's beautiful, the way the numbers exchange their place, they form new numbers. Their logic is unmatched. Geometry is beauty. An essence of everyday life. I am lost in the complexities of infinity. Trigonometry is a lifeline. Nothing is impossible. You have everything in math, from the numbers to the infinity. It's so beautiful and I am in love with it.", I declare, as soft as I can to avoid attracting the attention of the emotionless teacher.
I finish, taking a deep breath and face the listener with amusement.
Chandra looked like he was about to faint any moment now. It was the third period, and it only took us about half an hour to strike a good friendship. We breezed through the first two periods of English and Chemistry, two subjects where we shared our love, but math - A living graveyard!
Chandra was still staring at me in shock.
"What the, man! What drugs are you taking? Or is that-", he pointed to my water bottle, " Alcohol? Let me test it!" He took the lid open and sniffed it. He looked at me in astonishment.
"What?", I questioned.
"How dare you-", he started, still in shock.
"I...I didn't do anything! WHAT? I have only water! I don't know if there is anything except water! Please, I'm innocent! I-I don't know what happened! "
"get drunk on drinking water!", he continued.
"You were joking, weren't you?", I added sheepishly after a brief silence.
"Yeah. But you had a near heart attack, didn't you?", he mocked, a smile playing on his lips.
"Umm...yea."
"Sorry.", he added sorrowfully, so sincere, disappointment spreading all over his face.
My heart reeled back in regret and I started apologizing profusely, "No, no, no! It's fine."
