11:46AM ; INTENTIONS

THERE WERE WORDS
left to linger in the spaces
flooding our agape mouths,
tangled,
like ridden stories
waiting to be told.

but darkness swallows up
all intentions,
no matter how small.

i've been wanting
to taste in colours lately,
to savour the things
i'm too worried to say
before i toss them back with
more melatonin.

i want to feel the
sharp red of the consequences
i've been begging to
cloud my veins
and the soft azure
of the sky
shaking me awake.

i want the light
to paint me a masterpiece
so that when fate drops by,
the shreds of my words have
once been art.

i want to see,
to see behind the oblivion
gravity favours
and enjoy the whispers
of my fears,
echoing into nothingness.

i want the words
to drown,
more than anything,
in their vibrant homes
of hearts
and i want the pain,
more than that,
to pass over quicker this time.
