12. please dont go

"I wish that it could be like that, why cant we be like that, cus' im yours."

Here we go.

As soon as I stepped foot into school, all eyes were on me.

"For the sweet love of god, please tell me there havent been rumours" I mutted to myself.

I just carried on walking to my locker trying to pretend people werent stood there talking about me when it was clear they were.

Right there and then the schools bully Kayla Rose pushed me into my locker.

"Slut" she said which caused everyone to errupt into laughter.

What is it thats happened, why are people staring and talking.

I need to find Shawn.

I searched high and low around the school looking for Shawn and he is no where to be seen.

I decided to call him.

"Maya?" he spoke threw the phone.

"Shawn where are you?" I said in a weak tone.

He sighed "Meet me at the back of school, I need to talk to you. Im on my way"

*15 minutes later*

I waited for Shawn at the back of school hoping he would turn up.

"Hey Maya" he said causing me to jump.

"Woah you scared me" I said laughing a little.

A smile had grew on his face "I need to tell you something"

"Okay..." I said waiting for him to continue.

"Ive been thinking of so many ways to say this when I really dont want to and this was the only way I figured would work better then on text. Maya we cant be together anymore." I let out a breath I didnt know I was holding.

"Wha-" I was about to speak until he interrupted me.

"Hold on. Theres so many reasons for this I just cant give myself the guts to say them apart from Maya. People know. Theyve found out about us, as much as I hate to do this, we really cant be together. Atleast for now. Its wrong, Jonah still doesnt know and he is bound to find out when he is back.
I love you, I really do but this, I cant do all of this right now."

"Ill break up with him right now just please dont do this, dont go" I pleaded with tears pouring down my face.

"No hes yours, if things bring us back together then we are meant to be but for now just take a break" he said with sad eyes.

"Its because of me. Everything is because me of" I said getting louder.

He took a step back clearly trying to get out of the situation.

"First my dad, now you then next my mum. Anybody else plan to leave me?" I screamed.

"Im sorry Maya" Shawn said as he started to walk away.

Right there and then I just fell onto my knees and cried.

Cried all the pain from when my dad left, when I got abused as a child to this current situation.

"Please dont go" was all that escaped my mouth but came out barely audible.

I cant put up with peoples crap today.

After my total breakdown, I decided to just go home instead of carrying on with the school day.

Looks like a Netflix & Cry kind of day for me then.
