Ding, ding, ding. SET UP FOR PARTY. Ding, ding, ding. Link reached for his phone and unlocked it with his thumb. He turned to wake up Rhett, but realized he wasn't there. "Rhett..?" Link called. He immediately got up and put on his glasses. He searched around the house only to find a note on the fridge. HIGH SCHOOL. He isn't stable enough to go out alone! He doesn't even look human anymore! Link grabbed the keys and was surprised at seeing that Rhett must've gone to the high school on foot. But, it's pretty far... How could he get there? Link stopped thinking and immediately got in the van that Ryan let them borrow since it contained all the tables and other items. The sky was beginning to get dark, since it's that time of year, the sky turns black at five. By the time Link got there, it was already five. Link got down and figured he had to find Rhett first before anything. He entered the empty school considering everyone was on break. "Rhett?" Link called loudly. He looked down to see feint marks of dark red blood. Oh no... Link ran down the halls and as he was, he noticed there were no security cameras at all. What kind of school is this? Link finally found the gym, but just as he was about to open the two double doors, he heard cries and fast breathing coming down the hallway. "Oh my..." Link sputtered. It was Marcus, his neck devoured and spilling blood. He was crawling and holding his hand against his neck, trying to stop the flow. He must've been helping with the decorations. "What.." Link was covering his mouth with his hand as he saw Rhett walking out, only wearing what Link left him in. Rhett still looked the same, his face still morphing and his mouth stained red. Rhett walked closer and closer to Marcus, following behind. Marcus crawled faster, yelping. "H..Help! Hah.. Help!" Rhett grabbed him by his armpits and held him up as if he was a puppet. "Hello, Link." Rhett taunted. "Rhett... stop..." Link started. "Can we fuck? I love stalking cute boys..." Rhett moaned. "Rhett, quit it!" Link pleaded. Rhett slammed Marcus against the lockers. "Rhett, stop! He didn't do anything!" Rhett slammed him again, grabbed him by his neck, and glared at Link. "No! STOP!" "I don't like how he stares at you!" Rhett snarled, as he threw Marcus face first into the glass that held the emergency hose. Link's eyes were still wide as he saw Marcus lay dead underneath the hose. "Fuck... fuck..." Link whispered to himself, grabbing locks of his own hair. Rhett slid down slowly next to Marcus's dead body. Rhett inched closer to Marcus's neck, smelling the fumes his neck spilled out. Link was still trying to put all his thoughts together and his breathing was quick. "I had to, Link... My face... He would've-" "Fuck you!" Link yelled. Rhett looked at Link hurt, and was caught by surprise when Marcus slowly took deep breaths. They both looked at Marcus with puzzled looks. "He didn't die..." Link quietly said. Rhett looked up at Link confused, then back to Marcus. "You infected him... What am I gonna do..." Link said. Rhett started at Marcus, and instantly stabbed his sharp hand into his stomach. "No! No... No... Fucking hell..." Link stammered. Rhett slowly took out his hand, grinning and laughing to himself. "...You like it, don't you..?" Link mumbled. "It feels so good... Link. It's like... feeling yourself." Rhett said, standing up, walking towards Link. Link couldn't help but freeze in place. "You know every spot... Every move... Right on the dot... Afterwards, it feels like... you, Link..." Rhett was face to face with Link now, their breaths mixing again. "I-" "You feel so good Link... Every time I take someone's life... The taste of their blood... Tastes like your sugar... That's why I can't get enough of it... Can't get enough of you... Being in you gives me life... The thought of you being in me... it'll be fucking fireworks..." Rhett enchanted. His voice was so low, so charming. "I feel like I can do... just about... anything..." He leaned into Link's neck, placing mark-worthy kisses everywhere he could and teased Link's throbbing pulse with his sharp teeth. Link's face was completely flushed red because of Rhett's words and actions. Rhett stopped and leaned into Link's ear. "...We're almost not even friends anymore." Rhett closed. "You're fucked." Link said. Rhett snarled and pushed Link down. "Umpf!" Link coughed out. Rhett crawled on top of Link and grinned. Link no longer saw the beautiful green eyes he had known for all his life, he saw a stranger, a monster. "Join me in this Link. We're blood brothers anyways. This will take our oath to the next level." Rhett said. "I'd rather die than be what you're becoming." Link said. Rhett eased off with a betrayed look. "...Fuck you too..." Rhett got up. "What're we gonna do about this mess?" Link asked quietly. "...I'll handle the body, I guess. Like usual." Rhett smiled and licked the blood from his fingers. He got on his knees and tossed Marcus's corpse over his shoulder. "You handle the decorations, sweet pea." Rhett noticed that Link was crying. He wiped the tear from Link's cheek. "I'm sorry, baby. I'm still in here somewhere. I love you." Rhett held Link's cheek and kissed him. Link stared at him with eyes filled with hope. Rhett turned and left the building. Link stood there, still stunned. 'I love you.' Link stared at the blood everywhere and decided to clean all of it with the janitor's supplies. He went into the gym to see Marcus's progress. He was pretty much almost done, he only needed to place the tables which were in the van. Link brought them down and placed them where they were supposed to be. 'I love you.' Link smiled and felt the tears stream down his face. He imagined the old times where Rhett would pull out his guitar and just play any songs that came to mind, in which Link had known by heart. Link would walk in, singing along. Rhett would look up at Link, smiling and his eyes shining. They would sit together and sing in perfect harmony. I miss you, Rhett. Link wiped his tears away as he looked at his phone, saying that the time is 7:08pm. Time flies. Link felt dead tired. He went out of the school, got in the van, and decided to go home.
