Algid and with a biting wind, the Forest of Niflheim is a harsh landscape. Fine snow covers every tree bough and pads the floor several centimetres thick. Dark tree trunks contrast starkly against a pure white setting in all its splendour. The tall trees sometimes obscure the sky, their leafless white branches twisting and twining above.

The coyotes, winter wolves, arctic foxes and rabbits, and other species which inhabit this unforgiving territory move with a beauty hardened by their lifestyle. It truly is a battle of the strongest and a sight to behold.
