i was shocked. i didn't know that you were a murderer.

i didn't know that you were the one behind everything,

i was horrified by your story

yet a part of my mind wanted to help you,

despite the sins you just confessed to committing.

you told me everything, every single little detail,

of what happened that fateful night.

i wondered why you were telling me this,

a mere stranger.

you wanted me to leave you behind,

just like everyone else in your life.

but i want you to be genuinely happy.

i decided to stay, instead of leaving.

i promised you that i'll help you.

help you move on and help you be in peace with yourself.

you smiled with hope and hugged me.

you also rested your head against my shoulder.

but at the end, we all know that we are just

a murderer and a stranger, pretending to be okay.
