They say a lesson must be taught after your wrong doings. They say you must not do it again. The embarrassment doesn't feel like a lesson. The loneliness doesn't feel like I'm learning. The everlasting dreariness is not my lesson to learn. It is punishment for things I can't change, things I didn't do on purpose. It is punishment for accidents that I can't control. This is a punishment that can't handle. Always tired and unable to keep up. Never able to impress, only ever able to disappoint. Clearly the lesson you want me to learn is to just disappear.
