I pushed myself up slightly, resting on my elbows against the concrete floor as i heard someone approach the doorway. ''I wondered how long it would take you to face me.'' i narrowed my eyes at Stefan. He avoided eye contact with me, shifting slightly.

''I-'' He couldn't bring himself to say any words.

''Why don't you come inside Stefan, take a seat, make yourself at home.'' i say laying back down on the floor. ''It's actually quite homely after you get used to it.'' i mumble, thowing a coin up into the air and catching it as it twirled back down.

''If i let you out-'' i looked at him again, sitting up quickly. ''Will you promise me you won't leave this house?''

''I've been stuck in here for two days already Stefan. Well, i think it's been two days. It's hard to keep track when you're stuck in a basement.'' i say bitterly. ''I'm surprised Klaus hasn't been to see you yet.''

''Promise me you won't leave.''

''I have to see Klaus.'' i climb to my feet. I walk over to the doorway, coming face to face with my brother. He still refused to look at me, looking anywhere but me as i tried to catch his eye.

''You can't. Damon would kill me if i let you go.''

''Stefan.'' he blinked as i said his name. It suddenly occurred to me that hearing my voice, seeing my face after all these years must have been tough for my brothers. This realisation made my heart ache as i let out a breath. ''Stefan, you don't want me to stay in here. I can see it all over your face. You've got to let me go see Klaus, you don't know him. You don't know what he's capable of. He needs me to keep him in check.''

''We need you.'' he suddenly blurts out, finally looking at me. ''I mean-''

''Stefan, i know something is going on. I know you are afraid, i can hear it when you're asleep. Your dreams, they're so full of fear and anxiety- i can help you. I can help make all that fear go away, just give me the chance.'' He let out a sigh before finally nodding. He pulled the bolt across the door and opened it with a loud creak. ''Thank you Stefan.'' i walked past him, heading up the stone steps. I saw the rays from the sun but didn't think anything of it as i walked directly towards them. A loud screech flooded from me as the rays scorched my skin. I felt Stefan's arms wrap around me, dragging me into the living room. I fell from his grasp, falling to the floor, gasping for air as i healed myself. I looked down at my hand, noticing the ring from Klaus had gone.

''I had to remove your ring.'' Stefan's words say quietly. ''I had to be sure you wouldn't leave.'' i stood up and let out a sigh. ''Although, i have to say. It's a lot different to your original one. A crescent moon? That's very unique.'' he says, examining it between his fingertips.

''So what am i supposed to do? Why let me out if i'm just going to remain captive here?''

''You have this whole house to do things in. I don't care what you do Elizabeth, i've got to get to school. Just please try not to break anything.'' i narrowed my eyes as he pushed my ring into his pocket.
