This is just taking an existing fairy tale, and adding a twist to it.

Ex:
Snow White set in a city. The Evil Queen could be a model/ fashion designer that has passed her prime and Snow White is an up and coming model/fashion designer too. And the Evil Queen gets jealous and " wants her out of the picture".
( I couldn't think of what to with the dwarfs, maybe you could do something with them!)
