so today was the audition for my school musical and we are doing Throughly Modern Millie. i decided to audition singing the rap until the fundamental truths part in "Satisfied" from Hamilton. here's how my audition went:
"hey!"[director1]
"hi! i'm sky."[me]
"hi sky. what are you singing for us today?"[director1]
"..."
"..."
"..."
"i'll be singing Satisfied...."[me]
"..."
"..."
"..."
"...from Hamilton."[me]
"okay, whenever you're ready!"[director1]
(really quietly and high pitched)"i remember that night i just might..."[me]
"..."
"..."
"i remember that night i just mighhhttt."[me]
"..?"
"i remember that night i just might... i remember that night i just might regret that niGHt for the rEst of mY dAAysS. i remember those soldIEr boys trIPPIN over themselves to wIn our prAISE. i remember that dream like candlelight like a dream that you can't quite plACE, but alEEEXXXAAANNNDDDEER i'll never forget the first time i saw your face. i have neVer been the same. intelligENT eyes and a hunger panged frAAMMEE (i don't even know what i said) and when you said HIIIII i forgot my dang naMEEE set my heart aflAMEE every part aflAMEE THIS IS NOT A GGGAAAAAMMMMEEEEE"[me]
"thank you. that was good. anything you want to say?" (glares at other director)[director1]
"nope i'm good"[director2]
"you got soprano right?"[director1]
"yup."[director2]
"sorry, we're going off ear. thank you sky!"[director1]
"okay. bye!" [me]
in short, i sang the wrong part, was really pitchy, and am probably not getting a part. dance auditions are tomorrow, wish me luck!
