mornings for the davis's were usually calm, moving to new york didn't change that for the most part.

andrew was usually the last person in the house to wake up but not today. yesterday after him and riley's talk he promised her that they would meet up at the train station and go to school together.

so there he was, stuffing his face with eggos trying his best to leave the house on time.
"would you slow down, you slob" beatrice groaned. she paired over the edge of her phone to send her brother a distasteful look before continuing to type away on the device.

"stop pretending to text people bea, we all know you have no friends." andrew shot back, giving his sister a smile that was filled with bits and pieces of eggo waffles.

"shut up loser" bea barked
"shut up loser" andrew mimicked, making beatrice harshly kick him from under the table.

"slow down," joseph chuckled as he took in the amount of food his son had stuffed in his mouth. "why are you in such a rush buddy?"

beatrice found this as the perfect opportunity to tease her younger brother, "he can't wait to go to school and see riley" she laughed.

"you have a crush on matthews girl?"

at the sound of the conversation drew viciously coughed, and quickly grabbed his orange juice to try and help his food continue down the right path. he rapidly shook his head in denial, as the heat slowly rose up to his cheeks, tinting them bright pink.

"yes you do, look at your face" bea laughed, making sure to take a photo on her phone of her brothers embarrassment.

"son there's nothing wrong with having a cr-"
before joseph got to finish his sentence, andrew cut him off. this was not a conversation he wanted to be having

"dad! i don't have a crush on her" andrew protested. he sprinted out of his seat, grabbed his bag and made his way out the door. "look i gotta go" as the front door closed andrew could hear the faint words from his dad escape through the opening
"he's got it bad huh."

it was hard to miss her even in a crowded subway station filled with people that were in a rush to start their day, she stood out the most.

andrew wasn't surprised when he seen the small blond standing next to riley because as riley told him before , the two were best friends and they basically do and go everywhere together. drew could only wish he had someone that cared for him the way the two girls clearly cared for each other.

although he wasn't surprised to see maya he was surprised to see maya point at him and say something , which made riley blush, kinda like how he was only a few minutes ago. as he emerged next to the girls he decided not to ask what they were talking about before he walked over.

"hey" he smiled, pulling his left hand out his jean pocket to give the girls a wave before pushing it right back.

"freckles." maya replied

"hey" riley sustained, the pink in her face was slowly fading away

the two brunettes stared at each other with goofy smiles plastered on their faces, they weren't verbally speaking but they didn't have to, their eyes did all the talking. riley didn't wanna be the one to break the secret staring contest and neither did andrew .

maya had enough of looking at the two stare at each other, it was strange but deep down maya found it kinda adorable. "so.. are we gonna get on the train or are we just gonna cutely look at each other all day? she scoffed

"what? maya we were-" riley tried to explain the situation but everyone in the triangle knew what was happening.

"yeah save it, let's go" maya ignored her, pushing the two teenagers inside the train cart.

"funny, usually im the one dragging you to school" riley noticed

"i know right!"

once the triangle made it to school they broke apart. maya and riley going one way , drew going the other. they said something about having things to do before class which drew took as code for girl things he didn't want to know anything about. so that's how he found himself all alone at his locker, taking out the text books he needed for his first period class.

"we haven't fully been introduced yet" a voice spoke. andrew felt a tap on his shoulder causing him to quickly spin around and punch who's ever arm belonged to the voice that just spoke. it was a natural reflex that he couldn't help.

"ouch" the voice yelped in pain. "that's quite a hit you got there"

turning around to see whom ever was talking andrew quickly recognized the face but he wasn't very familiar with the person. but along with the boy was another boy, he was much bigger then the first, blond hair and a button up plaid shirt. " i was on the baseball team at my old school." he shrugged.

"yup that explains it" the boy croaked, still rubbing his arm " my names farkle"

"what an original name.." andrew trailed off " i'm drew, nice to meet you man."

"i'm a good friend of riley and maya" farkle added.

before andrew had the chance to speak the blond boy beat him to it. "i'm lucas and i'm an even gooder friend of riley and maya" his voice was questionable but firm.

"i don't think that's a word?"  andrew gave the boy a confused look before moving his attention back to farkle. "well it was good to meet you guys, but i gotta head to class, see ya later though" but before andrew fully made it down the hall he stopped to turn around back to the boys. "oh yeah sorry about that punch man" he projected his voice before continuing his path in the other direction.

"really? gooder" farkle shook his head at his companion disapprovingly before walking away.

"i panicked!" lucas screeched before chasing farkle down the hallway.
