There is a boy
There is a boy with puppy dog eyes that make it impossible to stay mad at him
There is a boy whose half crescent moon smile fills me with joy
There is a boy who smells like home and his arms are safety
There is a boy who with a single touch, ignites a fire in my stomach
There is a boy who holds my hand and it feels like nothing could go wrong, like nothing is wrong
There is a boy whose heartbeat was the most soothing thing I have ever heard
There is a boy
There is a boy who did not just break down my walls, but destroyed them in a whirlwind of a tornado leaving me vulnerable and disoriented
Who held my heart and every ounce of trust I had in his hands
Who knows me, all of me, the good, the bad, and the ugly
There is a boy whose hands slipped and left me shattered
There is a boy who left me homeless
And I didn't understand how someone could do that
There is a boy who made me feel inadequate and like I didn't matter
But then, I remembered
He is just a boy
He is not the only sun in my universe
He is not happiness
He is not my saving grace
He is not all I will ever love
He is not the only one that loves me
He will not be the last to love me
Boy is not a necessity
He is not my savior or my hero, or a knight in shining armor
He can not save me
Only I can do that
He was a boy
He was just a boy
