2018-2019
The years of the pregancy.
2018 was year jayde fell pregant with their babies. Two beautiful twin girls.
Both babies were delivered on the 25th april 2019. They had been named Leah and Sophia Hemmings. One of the girls had been whisked away almost instantly after birth and Jayde had fallen asleep with little baby leah in her arms. Luke took leah for himself. He was fiddling with her wrinkly, little fingers when he heard a knock at the door
"Come in" he calls.
"Sir? I have an update on your child" he had a solomn look on his face.
"Is she ok?" He asked frantically.
"Sir your daughter has sadly passed soon after delivery" tears spilled from lukes eyes.
"What happened?" He choked on his sobs.
"Her heart hadn't developed properly in the uterus and her little body was too frail, im sorry sir, I'll leave you and your family alone and if you need me I'll be in my office at the end of the hall" he smiled weakly at luke and exited the room.
2021
Jayde, luke and leah bonded well in leahs first three years of life. The first year was difficult as they had this perfect idea of a 4 person family in their heads and to only return from the hospital with 3 pushed the parents into a state of grief. But they plowed ahead, little leah being their source of motivation.
Luke also proposed to jayde that year. They were sat on the couch watching bambi, when luke turned to jayde and stared at her in a loving way.
"what?" She laughed "is there something on my face "
"no, no, I just uh- ok you're-you're b-beautiful" jayde instantly slapped a hand on her forehead.
"Did you just?" She groaned.
"You know i did" luke smirked at her.
"I hate you!" She laughed and grabbes a stuffed toy from the floor and made her way towards the toy chest on the otherside of the room.
"-and i love you and want to spend the rest of my life with you" jayde snapped around. Luke was down on one knee, ring in hand. "I love you jayde. Please give me the pleasure of calling you Mrs Hemmings!?" She ran to him and engulfed him in a hug.
"Oh my god! yes luke!"
2023
This was the year they wed. 2023. 5 year old leah stumbled down the aisle throwing petals implanting smiles on the audiences faces. Then out came jayde. Tears brimmed the pairs eyes, as they realised that that moment was the start of forever.
"When i was young, i thought love was being showered with gifts, red roses, walking hand in hand and romantic kisses in the rain.
But as i grew older and had my fair share of realationships" she gave michael a cheeky look which he returned. The crowd chuckled. "I realised that love wasn't exactly what i thought it was, yes its nice to be showered with gifts but this way is much better. Ugly Snapchats, 5 hour long FaceTimes, forehead kisses and cuddles. Its not something you would read in a shakespear novel, its definitely something you would read on wattpad, but thats beside the point. What im trying to say is our love is our own type of clichè and im 100% okay with that!" Luke gave her hands a reassuring squeeze. Tears rolling down their cheeks.
"Jayde we've had some downfalls in our realationship. Like when we fell in love for the first time, you had a boyfriend but we got through it. When we faught because i hadn't asked you to be my girlfriend and we didnt talk for a week. We got through it. When we lost our child. We got through it. No matter how many times we fall, we get back up. We support eachother. We love eachother and we make fun of eachother but for me thats a perfect realationship and i hope that our little family will expand and we will live happily ever after" he chuckles smiling down at the girl he loves.
"I now pronounce you, husband and wife! You may now kiss your bride!" Luke leaned in and captured her lips with his.
2034
Ah the teenage years. Little leah was all grown up now but the hemmings had another little monster to deal with, alex their 5 year old son.
"Leah how many times do i have to tell you! No dating! You are 16 you should not be dating boys or girls! You should be focusing on school work!" Luke and leah we're arguing in the kitchen over leahs new boyfriend and jayde and alex were building a castle out of Lego in the living room.
"Ugh! I hate you dad! You're never around and the rare occasion you are you boss me around like im 5! Mum is ok with me dating jake! Why cant you be like mum!? Atleast she's always home and not halfway across the world!" And with that she stormed out of the kitchen and up to her room leaving luke dumbfounded.
"Luke grabbed a beer from the fridge and wandered into the living room. Jayde knew that he felt like a bad father, this wasn't the first time leah had told him how shd felt about him.
"Give her time to cool down and then go up to her room and talk to her luke" she gave her husband a sincere smile.
"Shes right, i am a bad dad. Im such a fuck up! He threw one of the pillows across the room. He suddenly felt a small arms wrap around his legs.
"Daddy, leah is jwust gwumpy! You're a gweat daddy! I pwomise!" The boy looked up at him an gave him a big toothless grin.
"Promise?" He chuckled down at his son.
"Pwomise!" He crawled onto lukes lap and give him a kiss on the cheek.
2043
Exactly 20 years after her parents wedding leah married michaels son marcus. The twos love story was almost identical to luke and jaydes. Best friends that never had the balls to confess to one another their feelings. But when they finally did, leah was still dating jake, and leah was caught inbetween both boys, ironic right.
But like mother like daughter, in the end they both made the right choice.
2071
The year of separation.
This was the year that two true loves were separated and then reunited again but in a different world.
Luke sat beside jayde as she lay in her hospital bed. The heart moniter going beep beep beep until suddenly it stopped.
Luke felt jaydes once tight grip loosen. He let the tears fall as he realised that the love of his life was now gone forever.
Jaydes cause of death was natural causes.
The cause of lukes death was heart break.
