Bellamy and I made our way through the forest after grabbing the blankets and guns from the debot, making sure to leave nothing behind before we left. We both made a double check before trecking through the dark forest. The whole way there he refused to talk to me, and he didn't even glance my way after the almost kiss back in the depot.
My brown eyes were focused on the camp torches that were lighting up the gate up ahead and suddenly someone shouted. "He's gone!" a man panicked as Bellamy and I reached the outside of the walls. My eyes glanced over at Bellamy's frame to see his lips pull into a fine line.
We pulled back the gates and entered the crowded middle of the camp, where everyone was gathered around, kids were speculating about what would happen now that the grounder had escaped which lead to a panic of what would happen to them once the grounder reached his own camp, and they had every right to be afraid.
The grounders - from what I gathered from the one we had kept hostage - were a ruthless bunch of people and were willing to die for whatever cause they were fighting for. The worst that could happen to us now, is that the man that escaped would dispatch his people to come for us.
"Let them come," Bellamy's authoritative tone flew over the camp as we grew near and I stopped beside him in front of the panicked teenagers. Everyone seemed to slightly un-tense as their leader was in front of them, but they seemed hesitant to let them just 'come'. "we've been afraid of them for far too long. And why, because of their knives and spears? Well, I don't know about you, but I'm tired of being afraid." He announced over the crowd before his brown eyes met mine and he nodded towards me briefly. We both slung the bags from our shoulders that held the guns, making a clattering sound as they hit the ground with a soft thud, but the noise was lost due to the multiple cheering erupting throughout the camp once they knew what the bags contained.
"These are weapons, okay?" I pointed out seriously. "These are not our toys, and they can cause some serious damage." I watched as a heap of blonde hair was making it's way towards the two of us, and then her blue eyes settled upon the guns.
"And, we have to be prepared to give them up to the guard when the drop ships come down. But until then," She paused, and I finished the sentence for her.
"Until then, these are going to keep us safe." I looked over at Clarke with a small smile.
"And there are plenty more where these came from," Bellamy announced. "Tomorrow, we're going to have Dakota start training each and everyone of you. If the grounders come, we're going to be ready to fight." I looked back up at him just as he sent a quick glance my way. I didn't offer to teach these kids how to shoot. I realized how much I was becoming more and more like my father every single day.
"We also found some blankets. There aren't enough for all of us, but they're big enough to share, alright?" I informed. "They should keep us from freezing to death." I dropped the bag on the ground and allowed kids to begin grabbing blankets.
I turned around to grab my sling of weapons from the ground, only to find them missing and Bellamy walking away in the distance with them slung around his other shoulder.

I walked out of my tent, after having a much needed nap. I turned around after zipping up the tent and met with a pair of blue eyes who widened in surprise. "I was just going to speak with you,"
I raised an eyebrow at her with a puzzled look before asking, "About?"
"Chancellor Jaha would like to have a word with you," She explained and I cocked my head to the side.
"About what?" I asked her curiously.
She shook her head, "I don't know. He just said for me to come find you."
I chewed on my bottom lip, gazing out over the other's that were playing around, then I looked back down at Clarke, giving her a small nod.
She gave me a small smile and gestured me to follow behind her. We stopped in front of a tent, and I looked at it curiously. I looked over at Clarke who exhaled harshly, something wasn't right here. Clarke and I entered the tent, and I saw the screen in front of us, flickering every few seconds.
"Dakota," The Chancellor said, "I'd have to admit, I didn't think I would see you." I walked over to the chair, putting the headset on.
"Well, I'm here now, what did you want to talk to me about?" I asked him, sitting up straight in the seat. I felt Clarke leave from my side.
"I actually wanted to discuss your father. I doubt you would've came here if you knew he wanted to speak with you."
My eyes flickered to the screen, as my stare became more cold. Finally I let out a sigh, "Alright, track him down then."
He smiled back at me, and then nodded to someone off-screen. "Radio Kane please." Jaha looked back at me. "I thank you for not causing a scene here."
I nodded without speaking, and after a moment or two, I could hear my father's voice as he entered the Council Room. I bit down on my bottom lip, and took a deep breath. Jaha stood from his chair, and soon it was replaced by Kane, who was hesitate to sit down in the first place.
"Dakota," He said, a strange grateful tone in his voice.
"Da quanto tempo , vero Marcus?" I spoke, and I saw Kane's eyes flicker in regret.
"It has," I saw Kane swallow, but his eyes flickered up, catching my gaze. "You don't call me dad anymore?"
I let out a snort, "I became an orphan when you sent me down here to die."
"And yet, here you are."
"No thanks to you," I shot back.
I heard Kane clear his throat. "Are you okay? Clarke told me that you had a dislocated shoulder," He asked, ignoring the small argument I started.
"I'm fine." I answered. I was honestly surprised he even knew, or even cared. "I still kick ass, just like you taught me."
"Looks like you got pretty beat up," He noted.
I scoffed, "Yeah, Shumway had one of the hundred try and kill a friend of mine." I ran a hand through my hair, untangling many of the knots. "But it's all right. I'll survive."
"I'm proud of you," Kane said seriously and my eyes flickered to the screen. "I've always been so proud of you, I haven't been the best father towards you in eighteen years, and I hope it's not too late to try, if you'd let me."
"Eighteen years?" I managed to say, "Happy Birthday, Dakota." He smiled at me, and I managed to show him a pained smile.
