Chapter 4- Look what you've done

Riley's POV

"So we never actually said who we lost our virginities to." Stephanie said to Emily. She was coming over tonight, meaning I got to hear their conversations the entire 20 minute walk home. "I'll tell you if you tell me." Steph added. She is seriously one of the guys. I kept my head down, but listened, slightly curious.
"Oh, uh..... It was Eldon." Emily said awkwardly, nodding her head slightly. I even stopped slightly, surprised. She lost her virginity to Eldon? Just over a year ago she almost hated him. "It was both of our first times."
"Aw! That's actually kind of sweet, if you hadn't broken up. When was it?" Steph questioned.
"The night I came back to The Next Step and officially left Elite. That's kinda when our problems started, I sometimes wonder if we moved too quickly." Emily answered.
"That's a shame. Mine was with Daniel actually, 2 years ago, before he got all stuck up." Steph replied like it was nothing. She just revealed her first time and she acted as though she was talking about something completely normal. I seriously don't understand what's wrong with her. "Hey Ri, I didn't say anything in front of the others yesterday, but I noticed you seemed uncomfortable, you were sitting on your hands as if to stop yourself from raising them. Is there anything you'd like to share?" She teased, hitting my shoulder with hers.
"Leave her alone Steph." Emily replied, rolling her eyes. I didn't say anything, but let my head continue to hang, in fear my cheeks were bright red.
"What? It's a valid question. Plus she hasn't responded yet which leads me to believe she lied." Stephanie told Emily, who sighed.
"Fine. Riley have you had sex?" Emily asked, sounding unamused.
"No I haven't." I responded, doing my best to keep my voice doing one of two things, cracking, or getting so high pitched it was obvious I was lying.
"See, there's your answer. No lies." Emily said to Stephanie.
"Alright. But I think I detect some jealousy there." Stephanie continued to tease. I chose to ignore it, speeding up as I walked, in attempt to create more distance between Steph and I. "She didn't respond. Is that a yes?" She added. That's when is had enough.
"Can you just mind your own business?!" I exclaimed, turning to look at her. Stephanie fell silent, shocked. I sighed, before turning and walking quickly again, needing to be away from her.
"Great, now look what you've done. You've pissed her off." I heard Emily say to Stephanie, sounding annoyed.

Emily's POV

I sat on the couch with Stephanie. Riley was upstairs and mom and dad weren't home from work yet. "I know who the test belongs to." I suddenly said, getting Stephanie's attention.
"The pregnancy test?" She asked, eyes wide. I nodded.
"It's Beth. And James is the father." I told her.
"How do you know?" She questioned.
"James has missed 2 rehearsals, my guess is he's freaking out over becoming a father, and his player ways, aka having sex once a week at least, and how close they are. It all fits. Plus it isn't me, and literally no one else has a boyfriend other than her. I understand why Miss Kate questioned us all, she can't jump to conclusions, but the only plausible answer is Beth." I explained.
"Oh my god, you're right! Who else have you told?" Stephanie squealed, sounding happy the mystery was solved.
"No one. Just keep it to yourself for now. And whatever you do, don't tell Riley. If she finds out, she could do something bad. We need to be a careful for when she does find out." Stephanie nodded, agreeing with me.
"Good idea." She said, before we started talking about how horrible their kids personality would be. I mean, we're combining Beth and James. There's no worse combination.
