We talked until.

I watched her eyes grow heavy.

And suggested we go back.

She chose a random star.

And claimed it was the second star.

To the right.

And we chased it.

All the way back.

To her house.

It was silent.

I imagine her mind was screaming.

Mine was deafening.

"So tomorrow then?

I asked when we stopped.

In front of her house.

An unspoken question.

And answer.

Passed through our gaze.

Do you like me?

Do you like me enough

To ask me to stay?

"Yeah, tomorrow."

She replied.

Turning away to walk to her door.

Well I had my answer.

That I was beginning to accept.

This was never going to happen.

I turned her back to me.

Hugging her carefully.

Even though she didn't like hugs.

"Sleep tight.

Have good dreams."

I whispered.

"You too."

She pulled away.

With a smile that was addicting.

She disappeared behind her door.

And I don't know how long.

I stayed there.
