Chapter 6: Who?

Suddenly, Jennie heard footsteps behind the shelves full of books and test tubes, lurking in the shadows two steps from behind. She turned around to see what it was.

Turns out it was an old man most likely to be in his early forties. The man was wearing a hooded jacket that only covers his eyes and a pair of jeans that were torn. Jennie thought that maybe he was wearing those to not attract one's attention.

Jennie was speechless, and she thought he was lost. What could he be doing here?

"Hello? Am I in the right place?" Jennie asked the man.

The man replied,"Certainly. Come on, follow me."

The man lead her to what seem to be a study room, which was full of books and posters.

It was a long awkward moment and the man broke the silence.

"Hello and please introduce yourself, young lady," The man finally said.

"Okay the name's Jennie. And I guess I was supposed to meet someone here?"

The man nodded.

"Please tell me what has been happening to you lately."

So Jennie told the man like what she told her friends. The man just nodded throughout her explanation.

Jennie spotted a test tube labled 'x' with a red-coloured liquid in it. She was so curious to find out what it is. Without thinking, she asked, "What are those?" while pointing to the test tube.

"Okay, kid. Let me tell you the whole story how you were cloned, or duplicated." The man said.

Jennie paid her attention to understand what had happened, that had caused her confusion and curiosity.

"My name is Professor Jacob Padraic Ratigan" said the man.

"Who?" Jennie asked, not able to catch what his long name was.

"Just call me Prof. X."

Jennie nodded at that statement. Reluctantly, she asked,

"So what happened?" .

Prof. X had a smirk on his face.
