CH19: Crystals are Stupid (part 2)

Kankri's POV

       When I woke up something felt really off. And by that I mean we were in a completely different room from last night. Panic set in quickly as I checked around the room. Our stuff was gone. Oh no, our stuff is gone.
       My heart started to pound against my ribs. We need to leave but first we need to find our stuff then we leave. I quickly make my way to Kurloz to get him up.
      " Kurloz, wake up! " I shook him hard.
       He just growled at me and pushed me off a bit too hard. Something major is up and I don't know how the heck we got stuck in this situation. Maybe I'm just over analyzing this. This could have been the room the whole time and I just don't remember. Maybe I just misplaced our things. OR MAYBE YOU'RE BEING HELD CAPTIVE IN THIS STUPID BLUE- wait a second. I look closer at Kurloz and see a new glowing blue crystal hanging on his neck. This for sure I know he didn't have.
       Closely I inspect the shard and suddenly it hit me. I actually know what this is. These are Nighlies. These gems are really beautiful but laced with tons of black magic. These gems are basically cursed. They eat of your energy and use it to power it magic. It has the ability to take over the body and confuse the owner. When in close proximity you can suffer from loss of energy and confusion but if the stone is basically wrapped around your neck it's almost game over. Even the smallest amount of Nighlies can cause Amnesia and severe mood swings but worst off all prolong exposure to it will cause death. And not a painless death and very very very painful one.
       After assessing the situation I look around the room for something sharp. Getting the crystal off Kurloz was my number one priority. There was nothing. The room barely had anything in it. Ok Kankri keep calm. You can't panic! Kurloz's life basically depends on you not panicking!
       I continued to look around the room and catch a glimpse of myself in the window. I had a crystal too but mine wasn't glowing it was just hanging there. It's confusing but my body is able to shield itself from black magic. Instead of it eating off of my energy I'll gain energy. It's best to not really go into it at the moment.
       Suddenly the door opens and the girl from yesterday came in with a wide smile on her face.
       " Hello Kancris," her smile suddenly drops," or should I say Prince Kankri Vantas."
       I didn't take the time to register why she knew who I was but went into defense.
       " What do you want with us?!" I yelled.
       " You're a red blood darling. Do you know what every other kingdom out there will think once the out cast village takes in a high blood? They'll never look down on us again! This self proclaimed kingdom will grow and become better than any other. With the red blood Prince were unstoppable!" She spoke with haste and anguish.
       " You can't do that!" I scream.
" Yes I can!" She smirked.
" I won't let you!"
" Try me red blood"
Without a second thought I charge at her. Just before I could get my hands around her thin neck she blew a black dust into my face. My eyes started to burn and my throat clenched shut. Slowly I started to suffocate. I heaved out short breaths and grabbed at my throat for air. Slowly the world blurred together in a dark mush.
" Sleep tight red blood." She laughed and slammed the door shut.
One last time I gasp for a sliver of air only to be met with darkness. The silence turned into ringing and my body burned. It felt like my throats was bleeding. A heavy metallic taste flowing down my throat. My body grew weaker and weaker but my chest pounded against my ribs. Slowly my throat opens up and cool air flows in but it doesn't feel heavenly it feel like lava melting through my lungs. Sharp pains in my stomach force me up. My body feeling a mixture of emotions turning me sick. I hunch over myself heaving out a ghastly sound. Black liquid flooding out of me. The taste was putrid almost like tar.
My body fell limply to the floor. I have no control over what happens next and that terrifies me. I can't die here! I can't die period!! I was suppose to have a normal life. Me and Cronus, we... I found this undeniable love. Maybe this is what happens when you mess with fate. The future screws us all over eventually, right? This was never suppose to happen. I wasn't meant to find the love of my life. I was meant to be a royal blood. Love wasn't in the cards for me.
I laughed quietly to myself as my body drained its energy. My vision stayed blurred and unfocused. A fuzzy blur floated in front of me. It placed a warm hand on my cheek. All I could make out was black hair.
" Cronus," my voice came out in a hush.
The blur didn't say anything it's fingers settled in my hair.
" I'm sorry." I reach out and grab something small and hard.
The blur's other hand reached under my back and pulled me up a little. I smile weakly at the illusion my brain had painted.
" Don't miss me....," a ting plucked at my heart sending sharp paint through my body making the black tar bubble at the corners of my lips," please..." It faded off into a whisper.
Suddenly my hand falls and the small thing in my hand falls with it. A small clink was heard. My eyes started to focus back to the ceiling only to blur back with dark red tears.
Reality hit and I knew I wasn't going to make it. My body only grew weaker and weaker. A shiver flowed down my spine and my burning lungs pushed out one more painful breath as my body finally dropped.
" KANKRI!!!"
