Sherlock jumped up from his spot on the couch and spun around. His heart stopped and his breath caught at the sight of John, standing there, his face torn in a million little pieces of emotion.

"Say," Sherlock paused and swallowed the growing lump in his throat. "Say that again."

John shrugged. "I love you, too," he smiled. "Dickhead."

Sherlock just stood there.

                   Staring.

Waiting.

                   Barely breathing.

Suddenly John rushed over to the detective, grabbed the fabric of his nightgown, and pulled him down. He stared into Sherlock's deep eyes for a moment before closing all distance between them and crashing their lips together.

All Sherlock could do was kiss him back, and that's all he really wanted.

Without parting, John shoved Sherlock across the room and up against the wall. They stopped for just a second to look at each other again. Neither could honestly believe what was happening was real.
