Morning Salutations

Moonlight shimmering in the sky,
Soft glowing ball of light engulfing the earth,
Soaking up the sunlight,
Hanging onto every vowel,
Mysterious and hidden,
Away from my view,
Tendrils of misty fog dance round you sweet moon,
As if to mock my love for you,
To claim you as theirs instead of mine,
Dew drops perched on green soft grass,
Soak my socks,
But it's worth it for you,
Yet worthless for me,
Galaxies up  galaxies dance and sing behind you,
Stars recite their heartfelt rhymes nearby,
I can't seem to get your attention anymore,
You seem more interested in the sun,
Than the earth.
