True Angel

You have always been
An angel of mine.
When our hands would join
And our hearts entwine.
To walk you down
With a train of white
Petals all around
As you became my light
I could see you
With an angel in your arms
An angel born of sunlight
Born so safe and warm.
But this all ended
The day you cried.
My perfect visions
Crumbled and died.
When you rose, I fell.
Both our hearts had bled.
When your soul flew to heaven
We had different paths to tread
The day you truly
Became an angel
That was the day
I truly fell.
