About:
Chirp was born into a poverty-stricken family of her mother and her father who spend most of their ideals about religion and what's right for the world around them. Her and her family are living with her father's mom and her aunt until they can scrape up enough funds to live on their own. Chirp has been involved deeply into her family's religion for a large portion of her childhood, spending her days reading the Bible front to back and taking part in classes at the church. However, as she approaches adolescence, Chirp's act of religion has slowly slipped away as she becomes more aware of the thought that how can the things they tell her be proven to be true? Sure, it's nice to know what happened to cause the way the world is now but is it true? Chirp also becomes aware of how strict her family is and how they aren't as nurturing she wants them to be: "Stand with your shoulders back and your head high" they'd tell her, brushing the faint wrinkles from her dress. They'd want her to act high and noble to hide the fact that her family was quite low on money.
This made Chirp feel the need to begin to rebel against them: She'd run off during the middle of church, discard her unwanted food out the of the window, run through bushes with pointy branches tearing at her pantyhose. Her parents then become infuriated by her actions and send her off to her room without dinner to think about what she's done and how this isn't something He would want her to do.
However, despite all of this her parents really are loving of Chirp. They both wanted to have plenty more children rather than just one until the mother had found out she had ovarian cancer and lost her ability to have children. Thus, Chirp's mother and her father are severely protective of  Chirp who to them is like a true blessing and show their love to her in a more strict way rather than being showing their compassion to her.
