I am nature's rebellious slave

For seeing the everywhere is what I crave

These overprotective branches tangle me

Prick me and poke me and pierce me and strangle me

"Please, just let me out."

"You will stay here, there is no doubt."

Until one day the wind breathed harder

Its labored exhale stole me away for barter

And so I ripped away from my dungeon of a tree

Feathered apart to a land where I would be free.

I sought to settle in this human world,

I thought this place would be a diamond, a gem, a pearl.

But when my being levitated to this nearby city,

Well, if I had eyes, I would say it wasn't quite pretty.

A mistake was made, I shouldn't have left.

Wind snatched me away so I accuse her of this theft.

For humanity is filled with an abundance of idontcare's and iwantthat's and ihateyou's

A boring old tree or this city? I know what I would choose.

"Please, just let me out."
