Howling wind

Tonight was a strange night. I had a chance of getting out of school tomorrow due to the fact that there was an expected 6-12 inches of snow. I didn't go to school today because I had injured my ankle at cheer practice. Coach was frustrated but made me go home. I lay in bed after a restless day of sitting on the couch and watching disney. I listened to the wind, howling fiercely . The trees branches whipped around, clinging on for dear life as they flailed in the aggressive gusts of air. The walls of my house groaned and creaked, sounding as if they were threatening to collapse. The brace on my ankle was on tightly so I unstrapped then re-strapped it to be looser. It really sucked having a hurt ankle so close to the convention. My friend was taking me to a con on Saturday and now my ankle was weak and hurting. "Fan-fucking-tastic" I muttered to myself. How was I gonna pull off that L cosplay with this ankle? I guess I could just pray for a snow day so I get another day to heal. I grew bored of laying and staring at the white popcorn ceiling. I turned over and started humming a small lullaby. I would draw but my bed is a loft bed and I do not fancy climbing up and down with this ankle. The wind burst out with a loud wail that could knock even the heaviest man off his feet. I peered outside my window at the neighborhood I had known for so long. Trees were still waving I'm the wind. The street was dark and empty, one lamppost lit it up. Nothing but a few cars remained on the street. The look of the street made me feel strange, a sort of Halloween feel. My mind was all over tonight, memories, thoughts....mostly memories and thoughts of being hungry. I was uber hungry but I couldn't go get a midnight snack because my dad was watching TV downstairs. I groaned at the hunger scratching my belly then curled back up. By the time I heard my dad come upstairs and go to bed, I was half asleep. I tossed and turned, thoughts STILL racing through my kind, it was a mess! All the thoughts were tangled like computer cords after not being straightened for a while. So, I got up, climbed down, grabbed my phone, then climbed back up and started typing away to make this. I felt the need to write about it, although I do not know why. So, I wrote and wrote on until I was tired enough to sleep. Goodnight to whoever is reading this.
