I sat provactively on the spin chair at the Deli's bar listening to Axel nag about his appearance on tv.
"Can't you just get a grip Axe." I said rolling my eyes.
"Not really.." Another man said.
I looked over at the glass door expectantly.
"Expectin someone Clarissia?" Axel said.
"No." I said brushing my fingers through my hair looking at the glass door curiously.
"Why don't you leave that bum for me?" Ben said.
"I get off at six." I teased.
"Alright missy.. I'll be waiting." Ben said grinning.
"I bet Tom would be happy to know that.." Axel said.
"Unlike you Axel, Tom can take a joke." I said chuckling.
Ben smiled.
"Axel you know I'm too old for that stuff.." Ben said grinning.
"Too old for what Ben?" Tom said sitting beside me.
"Cheating on you with your girlfriend there.." Ben said playfully.
"Ohh you wouldn't do that now would ya Ben?" Tom said laughing.
"Nah. Too young and frisky for me anyways." Ben teased.
"Better be." Tom said kissing me in the forehead in front of Axel.
"Tom..." I whined, "Not in front of Axe."
"Why not? Its Valentines Day." Tom said.
"Dont wanna rub it in his face..Cause he's single remember?" I said.
"Yeah. I remember." Tom said.
"So whats it like having 10 seconds of fame in Harmony Sheriff Palmer?" Tom said.
"Ehh could be better." He said looking at me when I giggled winking back.
"Or worse.." Tom said.
"Now whats that supposed to mean Tom?" He said.
"Nothing. Just be glad your not having to run around like a chicken with his head cut off is all." Tom said.
"Yeah." He said waving at me, "Gotta go guys. I'm on salary unfortunately. You stay pretty little missy."
"Yeah. You too Axe." I said as he walked to the door leaving it open.
"I try. I try." He said leaving.
"What was that all about Clari?" Tom said.
"Just a joke." I said smiling, "Dont take it too serious Tom."
"Okay..Okay..Okay. I was just asking.." Tom said.
"Sure..." I said, "Gotta go. Works in an hour. Behave."
I kissed Tom on the cheek and left the Deli.
"That girls definitely a keeper Tom. You better treat her well." Ben said.
"I know Ben." Tom said, "I'm doing my best."
"Good. Your a good kid." Ben said.
"Thanks..I try." Tom said.
