Chapter 31: He's coming

Henry's POV

I walked in and saw Xander watching the news.

"So Captain Man has a new sidekick named Shadow, that name sounds familiar".

"It does".

"Yeah, I remember when you were 6 and wanted to be a superhero, you called yourself, Shadow".

"Xander-".

"How could you not tell your own brother that you were kid danger".

"I've been kid danger for 2 years and 3 months, you were gone during that time".

"Well it's not my fault that dad was being a asshole".

"He's still here".

"What".

"He's in jail somewhere".

"I thought he died".

"He didn't and their letting him out next week, so you can start packing now so you can leave again and leave me with him".

I ran upstairs to my room and slammed the door. Xander knocked on my door.

"Henry, I'm sorry for leaving you and Piper with him".

"He would've killed me too if I hadn't bolted through my window and told the police that he was selling drugs".

"Henry, if he comes back, then I'm gonna stay and stand by you, and I'll protect you from him anyway I can, I won't let anyone hurt you, I wasn't here to save Piper but I WON'T let him hurt you, because you're my only little brother I have, you're the only one I have left", Xander said crying.

I opened the door crying. I rushed into him for a hug and he hugged back. I cried into his chest.

"I forgive you, I'm sorry for calling you a coward".

"Don't be, I am a fucking coward".

I can't believe that me and Xander are hugging for the first time. I can't believe that my dad is coming back in a week.
