and emotionally exhausted.

she'd always been terrified 

of trains, even as a young

girl, fearing that she'd fall

off and lose her legs like in

all the movies. it had only

been a mere three hours, 

and she was already re-

gretting her decision to

leave the town she'd long

ago escaped to. if only 

i didn't feel guilty for

each moment i spend 

away from my parents 

and  younger brother,

she thought, ducking her

head when she felt the tears

stinging her eyes. they always

seemed to come, no matter

how much she fought them

back.
