He holds his gaze. Staring contently at the bird wishing it to be his next meal. The bird was sitting on the bird bath almost mocking him at his confinement with in his owner's home.
He wished he could capture the bird. He just wanted to get a victory for once. Although for this cat, he had trouble hunting. As a kitten he injured his paw, giving him a limp since. He tried to keep that from stopping him but it still got in the way.
A few minutes passed and one of his owners' child came thru the front door. He saw his chance and the black cat ran outside the best he could to the bird bath. The child chased the cat around the backyard yelling his name that he wasn't too fond of.
"COME BACK MR.FLUFFYPANTS!" the child called but the cat continued to chase the Cardinal around the tall fenced yard. The bird flew out of the yard after having its fun.
The child picked up the now muddy cat and brought him inside. The cat feeling more down went to the bay window to take his afternoon nap. On the way to the window he saw a bird that one of the children must have brought home. The bird was peaceful inside his cage but he wasn't for very long.
