A very drunk Katie stumbled to the door of her brother's apartment, opening it to see a very angry Liam, Zayn, and Harry standing there.

"Where is she?" Liam asked, pushing past Katie and into a house party.

"Who?" Katie asked

"Come on, Kate," Liam said, "I let her go out and party, I've given her some free range, don't cover for her."

"Sofia?" Katie asked, turning down the music some.

"She was supposed to be home 40 minutes ago," Harry said, rolling his eyes at the teenagers in the apartment.

"She left awhile ago," Katie said, her words slurred, "She got into it with Emily, and took off. Said she was gonna get a cab."

"She got into a fight with Emily?" Liam asked, "Over what?"

"I don't know," Katie shrugged, "Neither of them would talk about it. But they were both pretty pissed."

"You let her leave?" Zayn growled, "Was she drunk?"

"She was buzzed," Katie said, shrugging, "I'm not her babysitter. Her and Emily got into it, and she said she was going home."

"Well she didn't come home," Liam said, frustrated.

"I don't know where she is," Katie insisted.

"Katie, we have people who want us destroyed, they're probably gunning for Sofia specifically right now," Liam said, his voice hard, "And you let her wander into the streets alone?"

"She's a big girl, Liam," Katie said, "I didn't make her leave, I can't control her any more then you can."

It had been a few weeks since Madison's attack, and the boys were using every resource to track down Chelsea Lane. Sofia had been taken off any and all jobs, which made her bored. But, she had gotten better. She was sleeping more, and communicated with everyone. Her and Harry were always together, and she was really making an effort at the whole family thing Liam insisted on. But, she was still a teenager.

After several times of catching her drinking at the club, or trying to lie her way into the party, Liam decided he had to let her be a teenager. Teenagers drank, they went to parties, and they went out. As much as Liam wanted to lock her up, he had to give her some freedom. So, as long as she told him where she was going and was honest about what she'd be doing, he let her.

"Didn't take long for her to take advantage of the whole freedom you gave her," Harry mumbled.

Liam rolled his eyes at Harry. It was clear that Harry wanted to deal with Sofia in other ways, but Sofia had a wild heart, she wouldn't be tamed unless she wanted to be. Liam knew that. He didn't want to squash the progress they had made by smothering her.

"What do we do now?" Zayn asked, typing on his phone. Liam assumed he was giving everyone an update.

"I don't know," Liam said, shrugging, "I don't know her hang outs, or who she would want to hang out with if she's not with Katie and Emily. I wasn't around enough to know where she might go and do. We could check some bars, I guess..."

"If it helps," Katie said, "This wasn't a typical Sofia dodge. She really looked ready to go home. She said she was going to take a cab home, and I believed her."

"That doesn't give me any comfort, seeing as we have people out attacking women," Liam snapped, "She shouldn't just be out on the streets."

"Well, when you figure out how to control Sofia," Katie snapped back, "You let me know."

"Let's just ride the streets, check out some bars," Harry said, "Ask around."

The boys turned and left the apartment, Liam leading the pack. He was annoyed, yes. But he was worried. Sofia knew how much danger they were all in right now; he just wanted her to use her head. He was starting to wonder if Harry was right, if giving her freedom was the worse thing he could be doing right now.

"Call her again," Liam directed to Harry.

"Yes," Harry said sarcastically, "Maybe this will be the time she magically picks up."

He put his phone to his ear.

"Harry!" Sofia gasped through the phone, catching him off guard. She was out of breath.

"Sofia!" he barked back, causing Liam and Zayn to
stop in their tracks.

"I need you help," Sofia said, "Meet him at the abandoned ice cream store at Main and West."

"Why the hell are you there?" Harry asked, "Are you okay?"

"Can you just get here please?!" Sofia practically yelled through the phone, before hanging up.

"We gotta go," Harry said, running ahead of Liam and Zayn, "I'll drive."

"Sof?!" Liam called, stepping into the store.

"Liam, blood," Zayn said, pointing to the floor. There was a trail of blood causing Liam's bones to go cold.

"SOFIA!" Harry yelled out, "SOFIA!"

"Back here!" Sofia yelled out, the boys went running.

"Holy shit," Liam gasped, when he found Sofia holding a girl up against some old boxes.

"It's her head," Sofia said, holding her shirt to the girls head, "It won't stop bleeding. I can't get it to stop, and she's too messed up to stay alert."

The girl mumbled something incoherently, as she glanced up at the boys. Her eyes were glazed over, but Liam couldn't tell if it was because she was hurt, or because she was high. She certainly didn't look like someone Sofia would run with, but he didn't know who Sofia ran with if he was being honest.

"What the hell happened?" Liam asked, rushing to her side. He looked at Sofia as his eyes went wide.

"Your face!" he gasped, taking in Sofia's bleeding lip, and the bruise forming next to her eye.

"I'm fine," Sofia said, turning her attention back to the girl. The girl hissed in pain as Sofia looked at the gash on her head.

"I'm sorry," Sofia said quietly, "It's pretty deep, I think it's gonna need stitches."

"We have to get her out of here," Zayn said.

"She can't walk," Sofia said, pointing to the girl's swollen ankle, "I barely got her in here."

"I got it," Liam said, pushing his sister aside.

"Her head, Liam!" Sofia cried out, as Liam picked the girl up, "Keep pressure on it."

"You're bleeding," Harry said, his finger brushing her lip.

"I'm fine," Sofia repeated.

"We have to get her to Danielle," Liam said, "She needs stitches. And she'll probably need a doctor."

"No doctors," the girl mumbled, but Liam ignored her as he made his way back towards the front of the store with the girl in his arms.

Zayn followed Liam back out, but Sofia couldn't seem to move. Harry took in her beaten face, and how her hands were shaking. He pulled her into his chest. He didn't know what happened, but whatever it was had shaken her badly. He just wanted her to feel safe, so he didn't think twice when he wrapped his arms around her.

"Come on," he said, pulling her. She groaned as she stepped forward. Harry paused.

"It's not just your face," he said.

"No, I took a few good hits to my ribs," Sofia said.

Harry pulled up her shirts, to see a series of
black and blue marks appearing on her.

"Jesus Christ," he hissed.

"It's okay," Sofia said, pushing his hands away, "I'm alright. Just gonna be sore for a few days."

"What the hell happened?" Harry asked

"We gotta go, guys!" Zayn yelled, running back in.

Sofia rushed out after him, not giving Harry his answer.

Sofia hissed as Danielle put peroxide on at the small cut above her eye.

"Are you insane?" the girl asked as she lay on the couch while Eleanor looked at her ankle, "I mean, you must be. Running into an alley like that."

"There's probably some evidence to support that theory," Sofia said, groaning as she sat up straighter.

"How long have you been in the game?" Liam asked, looking at the track marks on the girls arm.

"Long enough," the girl responded, trying to cover her arms from his eyes.

"Her ankles broken," Eleanor said, "She needs to see a doctor. I can't fix this."

"What's your name?" Niall asked.

"Michelle," the girl said.

"How old are you?" Sofia asked, "Little young to be working the corners, aren't you?"

"I'm eighteen," Michelle said, "And I'm stripper. Not a prostitute."

"And those guys? Sofia asked, "Who were they?"

"I don't know," Michelle said, "I owe some money to my dealers, they were probably sent by them."

"That's not possible," Liam said, "Drugs don't get sold on Main."

"They didn't get sold on Main, they do now," Michelle answered, "It's been dry for awhile, but the last few weeks, the drug games upped. You can get anything."

"Get Belfie on the phone," Liam barked at Zayn, "Now."

"Dealers selling to strippers?" Harry said, glancing at Liam, "Sounds familiar."

"Yeah," Liam agreed, not liking how far things were spinning out of his control.

"Liam, we have to get her to a doctor," Eleanor said.

"I can't afford a doctor," Michelle said, "I've had worse, it'll be fine."

"You need a doctor and you need rehab," Louis said to the girl, rolling his eyes.

"Yeah?" Michelle asked, "You gonna pay?"

"I just saved your life," Sofia snapped, "You are gonna do whatever the hell we tell you to."

"What happened?" Liam barked.

"I was trying to get a cab," Sofia said, "And I heard screaming from the alley way near West."

"So you just ran in?!" Harry snapped, "You're not even carrying, what the hell were you thinking?"

"I don't know," Sofia said, shrugging, "I just heard her scream. When I showed up, there were 3 guys, and she was on the ground. They were gonna kill her if I didn't step in."

"You took on three guys?!" Eleanor gasped.

"I tried," Sofia said, "They got more shots in then I did. They fought dirty too. Managed to get one down, but the other two wouldn't give up. I think they recognized me, though. They said, 'isn't that the Payne girl?' not long into it. And they just took off. But, I didn't know if they'd be back with more people. I didn't know who they were. So, I just picked her up and went for safety. Couldn't get far, she was bleeding everywhere and was barely awake."

"Why didn't you call us?!" Harry barked.

"Because by the time you got there, she could've been dead," Sofia snapped, "And I didn't know it was going to be anything like that. I just heard her scream."

"What if it was The Suns, Sofia?" Danielle asked

"I thought it was!" Sofia snapped, "And I figured they'd more interested in me then whatever poor girl they had in the alleyway. I'm sick of these guys beating up on women who can't defend themselves."

"Who are The Suns?" Michelle asked, looking confused.

"None of your business," Liam barked, "Louis, get her to a hospital. And then find a rehab to put her in."

"What? You guys superheroes or something? Out to the save all the poor girls in the city?" Michelle snapped.

"Listen, you get fixed up and clean," Liam said, "And I'll get you a job where no one's gonna beat you up in an alleyway again."

"Unless of course your into that," Sofia said, cracking her neck.

"Shut the fuck up!" Harry snapped at her, "This isn't fucking funny!"

"Alright," Louis said, approaching the girl, "Let's go."

"I'll go with you," Eleanor said

"I don't need a babysitter," Louis snapped at her.

"I'm not babysitting you, Louis," Eleanor said, rolling her eyes, "I just think she'd more comfortable if there was a female around."

"Fine," Louis said, picking the girl up, "I'm not getting into an argument with you."

"Call Danny," Louis said to Niall, "Have him back us up."

"On it," Niall said, picking up his phone.

Louis and Eleanor made their way out of the room.

"What is up with them?" Sofia asked.

"They're just struggling right now," Danielle said quietly.

"I got ahold of Belfie," Zayn said, "He's sending over James."

"Now?!" Danielle asked

"Yes now," Liam barked, "I need to figure out this drug thing. If there are drugs being sold on Main, the Belfies would know, and if they're the ones doing it, I'm shutting that shit down right now."

"Liam, I don't want people in and out of this house at all hours of the night," Danielle hissed.

"Well, I don't have a choice with this," Liam said.

"Well maybe if you could control your sister a little better," Danielle said, "We could have a normal life."

"Hey!" Sofia snapped, offended, "If I didn't do what I did, we wouldn't know about the shift in drugs on Main. Also, I don't need to be controlled. I did what any of you would've done."

"It's different with us," Harry barked, storming over to her, "We are armed and probably wouldn't get the shit kicked out of us."

"Oh okay," Sofia said, shrugging, "Next time, I'll just let the girl die."

'That's not the point –" Harry said.

"What is your point?" Sofia asked, "I saved her, Harry."

"No one is taking that away from you, Sofia," Niall said, "You did the right thing..."

"But?" Sofia asked

"But you could've have been hurt!" Harry snapped, "Why are you so reckless with your own safety?!"

"I handled it, didn't I?" Sofia barked, standing up.

"If you were mine and you pulled –" Harry started, pointing at her.

"I'm not yours though," Sofia snapped, "So as much as you'd like some control in my life, you don't have it."

Harry's face contorted in anger, but she raised a
valid point. Yes, if she were his, he could do more about her actions. But, she didn't belong to him. She was free. And technically, even though he didn't like it, she didn't do anything wrong tonight. She saved someone's life, even if it put hers in danger. But, she was wrong in the fact that she thought he had no control. He was still her boss, even when she wasn't on a job. He wanted to remind her of that, but he thought it would send the wrong message. He didn't their relationship to be about business at all. At least not now.

"You're impossible," he hissed at her.

"So you've said before," Sofia mumbled, trying to stretch her body a bit.

"You're going to be sore for a few days," Danielle said, her voice thin and frustrated. It was
clear she wasn't happy.

"Clearly," Sofia responded, walking out of the room.

"What the hell are you doing here?" Sofia asked, seeing Isaac in her living room.

"I'm here for back up," Isaac said, pointing to her brother's closed office door.

"You're back up?" Sofia asked, skeptically. Isaac rolled his eyes.

"I could take you," he said.

"In your dreams," Sofia responded.

"You are in my dreams," Isaac said, "Can't help it."

"I heard cold showers help that," Sofia mumbled, jokingly.

"You weren't sporting those bruises when I saw you earlier," Isaac said, pointing at her face.

"Yeah, had a run in with some angry folks tonight," Sofia said, shrugging, "You wouldn't know anything about drugs being sold on Main, would you?"

"Even if I did," Isaac said, shaking his head, "You know telling you anything would get me a bullet to the back of my head."

"Yeah," Sofia sighed, frustrated, "That's what I thought you'd say."

"How was the party?" Isaac asked changing the subject, looking ahead instead of at her. He hated that they couldn't really be honest with each other, and he hated that she didn't seem to have a problem with that.

"Got into with Emily," Sofia said, looking over at him, "She thinks we are being idiots."

"We are," Isaac responded, "But who cares about idiocy when your orgasms are mindblowing like that?"

"Preach," Sofia said.

"What the fuck is this?" Louis snapped, walking into the room, causing Sofia and Isaac to look up at him.

"I'm just here cause my brother's here," Isaac said, throwing his hands up.

"And you?" Louis asked, "Any reason you're sniffing around the rat?"

"It's my living room," Sofia defended, "And you don't have to call him that."

"Well, find somewhere else to be, and I can call him anything I fucking want when he's standing in my house," Louis barked

"It's my house too," Sofia argued.

"Don't fucking push this, Sofia. Find somewhere else to be!"

And then he slammed the door of the office behind him.

"He's just in a mood," Eleanor said quietly, "Hi Isaac"

"Eleanor," Isaac greeted, stiffly.

"What's going on with you two?" Sofia asked, "He's been awfully on edge lately."

"Tell me about it," Eleanor said, rolling her eyes, before walking up the steps and ignoring Sofia's question.

"Trouble in paradise?" Isaac asked, while Sofia shrugged in response.

"I'm going to go talk to her," Sofia said.

"I'll stay here," Isaac said.

"Probably a good idea," Sofia said, "I'll text you next time I can get out on my own."

"You do that," Isaac said with a smirk.

Sofia walked back up the stairs to Eleanor and Louis room, and knocked on the door before letting it swing open. Eleanor glanced up at her from the chair in the room.

"What's going on with you and Lou?" Sofia asked, making her way over to the other chair.

"I'm not really sure," Eleanor answered, as Danielle slipped in the room with tea, "we just don't seem to be on the same page with anything anymore. We argue about stupid things, and it's all starting to build up."

"That happens though," Danielle said, sitting on the bed, "In relationships. You go through periods of time where it seems like more of a fight then a relationship. Plus, we've all been so stressed lately, of course it's taking it's toll."

"I just feel like nothing I do is good enough," Eleanor said, shrugging, "And The Suns have everyone on edge. Sometimes I wish we could just be normal. Have normal problems, and live a normal life."

"Yeah, that I get," Danielle said, "Liam and I were supposed to start a family, but it seems like were putting everything on hold."

Sofia glanced down at the floor. She felt bad, she knew that it was tough for everyone moving in. She knew they were all sacrificing for her sake. And she wasn't making it easier for them.

"Sofia, don't do that," Eleanor said quietly.

"Do what?" Sofia asked.

"Feel like this is your fault," Eleanor answered, "We wouldn't be here if we didn't want to be."

"I know that you all had plans," Sofia said, "And I know that you wanted to live on the more normal side of life, and my parents dying through everything off. I know that if it weren't for me... you'd be able to do what you wanted."

"That's not true," Danielle, said, "We gave up normal a long time ago, long before you or your parents were a factor."

"Why?" Sofia asked, looking at Danielle, "I mean, Eleanor didn't really have a choice. But, you did. Why'd you give it all up?"

"Because I fell in love," Danielle said, "And he is my soul mate. And it might sound cheesy and maybe it is. But I can live without anything else; I can give it all up. I can't live without him, or maybe I could. But I don't want to."

"That's sounds terrifying," Sofia said, quietly.

"What?" Eleanor asked.

"To depend on someone like that," Sofia said, "I never want to feel like that. It's too scary."

"It is scary," Eleanor agreed, "But it's also wonderful. And the truth is, when you find the right person, it's less scary."

"You mean, like Louis?" Sofia asked.

"Yeah," Eleanor said, nodding, "I hated this life. I hated what my father agreed to. I hated being here. But Louis, he changed that. He made me see that I could still have a life here. I could be happy. He let me be happy, and then we started being happy together. I was terrified, but he made everything much less scary."

"But you're fighting," Sofia said, shaking her head.

"Yeah," Eleanor agreed, nodding, "But never once have I doubted us."

"I've never had so much faith in a person," Sofia said, "I don't think it's possible for me. I don't think I could ever let someone in like that. Or have faith enough to never doubt. I don't believe in happily ever after."

"Maybe that'll change," Danielle said, looking at her sadly. She knew that Sofia felt that way, but Sofia had never said it out loud.

"It seems like too much work," Sofia said, sitting back and flinching as pain hit her.

"It is a lot of work. Falling in love is easy," Danielle said.

"Staying in love," Eleanor said, "That's the hard part."

"I'm a difficult person to like," Sofia said, "I can't imagine anyone actually falling in love with me. Or trying to make it work. So, I guess I don't really have to worry about it."

Sofia closed her eyes for a second, trying to push the pain from her bruises out of her head, so she didn't notice that shared look of knowing between Danielle and Eleanor. It's probably a good thing she didn't see it, because she would have known whom they were thinking about, and that would scare her even more.

***

It was the yelling that woke her up. Sofia groaned as she sat up in bed, she couldn't tell who was yelling but someone was in trouble. Sofia threw off her covers, and stumbled out of bed. She stepped out of her room as Harry stepped out of his.

"What the hell is going on?" Harry asked, his morning voice apparent.

"I don't know," Sofia whined, "But make it stop! Too early!"

Walking down the stairs she noticed everyone standing awkwardly in the living room.

"How could you do this?!" screeched Perrie, from the kitchen.

"I don't know what you're so upset about!" Zayn argued back.

"What the hell is going on?" Sofia asked, looking at Liam.

"Apparently Zayn has been sleeping with the shot girl," Liam answered quietly.

"Which one?" Sofia asked, suddenly awake as her curiosity got the best of her.

"Naomi," Liam answered.

"She's hot," Sofia said, nodding in approval. Liam gave her a dirty look.

"Agreed," Niall mumbled from his spot on the couch. He looked very annoyed to be awake.

"PERRIE, WHAT DO YOU WANT FROM ME?" Zayn screamed, causing Sofia to jump.

"I WANT YOU TO STOP SLEEPING
AROUND!" Perrie screamed.

"You're being ridiculous!" Zayn yelled, before stomping into the living room with Perrie on his heels.

"Do you know how much a fool you make me out to be?!" Perrie yelled, "I mean, first with her!"

Perrie pointed angrily at Sofia who pointedly looked away.

"And now with the shot girl!" Perrie screeched, "Why can't I be enough?!"

"I don't know what you're so upset about!" Zayn barked.

"You're cheating on me!" Perrie yelled.

Sofia bit down on her lip hard, because she knew where this was going and she wasn't sure she wanted to stand there and watch.

"Perrie, this is what guys do," Zayn said, throwing his hands up, "I'm not ready to be in a relationship. You know that, so you're being dramatic over nothing. I'm not yours Perrie, remember that. You're mine."

"You were ready when it came to Sofia!" Perrie insisted, hands on her hips.

"Fuck me," Sofia mumbled

"That was different!" Zayn said, turning away from Perrie

"Oh seriously, fuck me," Sofia mumbled again.

"Different how!?" Perrie said.

"I DON'T LOVE YOU!" Zayn yelled, catching everyone off guard. The room was silent as everyone suddenly got very still, and very quiet. Sofia closed her eyes tightly because she knew that was what was coming. She knew since Perrie showed up that Zayn didn't love her. She knew that Perrie was just a pretty girl that fell in love with him, and that even though he tried, he couldn't make he love her.

"Well," Perrie said quietly, "I guess that's it then."

She was staring at the floor, and Sofia could hear the tears in her voice.

"I didn't mean it like that –" Zayn said, stepping towards her, "I just meant –"

"How else could you mean that, Zayn?" Perrie spat out, her eyes narrowed in anger, "I have tried everything with you. I've been patient, and kind. I don't ask questions, and I keep my mouth shut. And you have done nothing but lead me on and drag me along."

"That's not true –" Zayn tried to explain.

"IT IS TRUE!" Perrie screeched, "Don't treat me like I'm an idiot! You knew how I felt about you! You knew that I wanted more! And you led me to believe that I would get more from you one day, knowing all along that I wouldn't!"

"Perrie –"

"Don't fucking call me," Perrie spat out before pushing past him, and running out the front door.

"Nice wake up call, that," Niall muttered, looking up at Zayn annoyed.

"Sorry," Zayn said, before running his hands through his hair, "She just started going off.."

"Because you got caught," Liam said, shaking his head, "If you're gonna sleep around, at least don't get caught."

"I didn't think I had to hide it," Zayn said, throwing his arms up, "I thought she knew that I wasn't just with her."

"You're an ass," Eleanor said, standing up, "I guess it's going around."

She shot Louis a dirty look, who rolled his eyes.

"I didn't get caught with another girl," Louis hissed.

"I agree with El, you're an ass," Danielle said, looking at Zayn with a disappointed face, "It wouldn't hurt you to get serious about someone Zayn. I liked Perrie!"

Both women walked into the kitchen to start breakfast for themselves. Louis looked up at Zayn with a look of frustration.

"Excellent, now all the girls are mad because you had to get caught," he said, before standing up, "I'm going back to bed."

"I'm going to go calm them down," Liam said quietly, as Niall flopped back on the couch.

"Go ahead," Zayn said, turning to Sofia, "Tell me I'm an ass."

"I don't think you're an ass," Sofia said quietly, "I don't think people can help who they feelings for. Although, sleeping with the shot girl was kind of a dick move. But what do I know?"

"She's never gotten over you and me," Zayn said, "We could never get past it, she could never get past it. And it was like a cloud that was always over us, and it just made me resent her."

"I'm sorry," Sofia said, "I should've never stopped it. I mean, us. Long before I did."

"I never understood why you couldn't feel what I was feeling," Zayn said quietly, and Sofia looked away.

"I get it now," Zayn said, "Because as much as I tried with Perrie, I just couldn't make it right in my head or my heart."

Sofia didn't say anything, as Zayn turned and walked out the front door. She saw him pulling cigarettes from his pocket as he went.

"Interesting turn of events," Harry said from behind her, Sofia had almost forgotten he was there.

"I don't know why people do this to themselves," Sofia said, shaking her head, "Love or whatever it is, seems more trouble then it's worth."

"Yeah," Harry said, nodding, "But then I see Liam and Danielle or Louis and El, when they're happy and good, and I think maybe it is worth it."

"I can't believe I got out of bed for that," Sofia complained, "Barely slept last night."

"Nightmares?" Harry asked, concerned. He thought they were getting better. She had been sleeping on her own more.

"No," Sofia said shaking her head, "Just hard getting comfortable when you've had the shit kicked out of you."

"Yeah, well," Harry said, his voice frustrated, "That's your own fault."

Sofia rolled her eyes, before moving back up the stairs.

"Where are you going?" Harry asked

"To put on my bathing suit, I'm sore. I want to get in the hot tub," Sofia said.

"That sounds nice," Harry answered.

"Why don't you join me?" Sofia asked.

***

Harry had started the bubbles in the hot tub before slipping in. Sofia came out after him, with a pitcher and two glasses.

"Mimosas," she said smiling, putting everything down.

"Trying to get me drunk?" Harry asked, squinting at her.

"Maybe," she replied.

She took off the small robe that was covering her, leaving her in a tiny, bright pink bathing suit. Harry's breath caught as she climbed in the hot tub beside him.

She hissed as the water hit her skin, but relief rushed over her eyes as she sunk in and leaned back.

"Those bruises don't look any better today," Harry said, doing his best to control his hands from running over them.

"It's alright," Sofia answered, "I've had worse."

Harry watched as she rolled her head, as though trying to crack her neck. She groaned as she did so, telling Harry she was in pain.

"Muscles?" he asked

"Yeah," Sofia said, "I don't know, I think all the anxiety and stress is getting to me. And everyone else, apparently."

"Come here," Harry said, catching Sofia off guard. She paused before she moved toward him, sitting in front of him.

She felt her hair stand on edge, as his hands went to her shoulders, massaging them deeply.

"Damn," he said, "You're tight."

Sofia felt her breath catch at his words.

"I mean –" Harry said, stumbling, "I didn't mean..."

"I got it," Sofia said, leaning back into him as he continued to use his hands to relax her muscles.

"That feels good," she mumbled.

"I'm glad," he responded.

"You seem less mad," Sofia said quietly.

"I'm still mad," Harry answered, "But I can't deny that you didn't help that girl."

"What'd you find out about the drugs?" Sofia asked, "Who's pushing them?"

"We think the suns have guys out on the streets," Harry said, "Liam thinks if we drive out them, we drive out the drugs too."

"And you?" Sofia asked

"I agree," Harry answered, softly, "I just want to get these guys."

"Was James any help?" Sofia asked

"The Rats are pathetic," Harry growled, "They don't know shit, except that they're losing costumers and
money."

"I guess that's good though," Sofia said.

"Why?" Harry asked

"Well, at least they aren't working with them..."

"They aren't that stupid," Harry answered.

Sofia was glad that they weren't involved. She had a loyalty to Isaac that she couldn't explain to Harry. But she was glad that last night made it clear that the Rats weren't the problem. She didn't want to fight with them, and she didn't want anything coming out about her and Isaac in the process.

"You shouldn't go running into alley ways," Harry said, "It's dangerous."

"So I've heard," Sofia responded.

"I mean it, Sofia," Harry growled, turning her so she was facing him, he couldn't help himself, his fingers ran over the bruises on her stomach. He was gentle, but the sensation his fingers brought to her skin, made her nervous. He made her nervous. She hated that. "You need to start listening to us and using your head."

"You said I helped that girl," Sofia pointed out.

"And you did," Harry said, "But it was still dangerous, and I won't have it!"

"You won't have it?" Sofia asked, raising her eyebrows at him.

"I told you I wasn't going to just stand back and watch you destroy yourself," Harry said, "That means self destruction or otherwise. If you continue to put yourself in these situations there will be –"

"Consequences," Sofia said, finishing his sentence with an eye roll. She cocked her head at him, "So you keep saying."

She was baiting him and he knew it. He could see it in her eyes that she wanted to know what he meant, but he still didn't want to cross that line yet. He didn't want to scare her away.

"Yes," he said, moving away from her, "Consequences."

"What does that mean exactly?" Sofia scoffed, "You keep saying it, but I don't know what you mean by that."

"I guess you'll see if you do something stupid or dangerous," Harry said.

"So in order to figure out what you mean, I have to break one of your stupid rules," Sofia said, Harry saw the curiosity in her eyes.

"I wouldn't suggest it," Harry barked, "Just behave yourself."

"That's nearly impossible for me," Sofia said, leaning back into the hot tub.

"So I've noticed," Harry said quietly.

"I haven't noticed Caroline around as much," Sofia said, changing the subject.

"What's with your obsession with Caroline?" Harry asked.

"I'm not obsessed," Sofia said, with a small laugh, "Just curious."

"You seem to be curious about a lot of things today. Curiosity killed the cat, you know," Harry said, with a knowing look.

"So kill me," Sofia answered quickly.

Her answer caught off guard, his heart stopped. In that moment, he was pretty sure it was her who would kill him.

"No," Sofia snapped at Katie, who was standing in their kitchen with her hands on her hips, "I'm not apologizing. I did nothing wrong."

"Sofia, she's our friend, and she's pissed," Katie said, "So just work it out with her."

"If she wants to be a child, that's not my fault," Sofia answered.

"I'm standing right here," Emily said, glaring at Sofia.

"Can't you two just make up?" Katie moaned, before throwing her hands up and walking out of the room, leaving Sofia and Emily glaring at each other.

"I don't even know why you're mad," Sofia said.

"If anyone finds out, there will be a war," Emily hissed quietly, "Don't you care about that? Don't you care about Isaac?"

"Fuck you," Sofia whispered, "Of course I do."

"Then why put his life in danger, why put yours in danger? What for? For a quick bang in a locker room?" Emily growled

"You don't shit about me and Isaac," Sofia spat out, "Just drop it before someone hears you."

"Maybe someone should hear about it!" Emily screeched, "Maybe they would knock some sense into you!"

"I mean it, Emily!" Sofia barked, "Shut the fuck up and mind your business!"

"Or what, Sofia?" Emily growled, "I'm scared of you!"

"Well maybe you should be," Sofia barked back.

"You're such a selfish bitch," Emily said, shaking her head, "You have Isaac manipulated just every other boy in your life and it is going to end badly for both of you if you don't put a stop to it!"

"I don't need to listen to this," Sofia said, rolling her eyes and turning from her friend.

"Don't you walk away from me!" Emily squealed, grabbing her. And before Sofia could stop herself, she shoved Emily hard.

"You stupid bitch!" Emily yelled, before flinging herself at Sofia. Sofia and Emily both fell to the floor. Emily on top of Sofia, and then Sofia on top of Emily. Both were screaming and shouting, and nothing was making sense or coherent.

"Don't you care about him?" Emily cried out, as Sofia elbowed her hard.

"Of course I do," Sofia hissed.

"Then why are you doing this?!" Emily shouted.

"Because he gets a part of me that no one else will!" Sofia shrieked

"WHAT DOES THAT EVEN MEAN?!" Emily shouted, before yanking Sofia's hair hard.

Hands were flying, as Sofia tried to pull Emily hand from her hair. Emily's feet were kicking Sofia, trying to get her to give up some of her strength. And neither of them noticed that other people had run into the room upon hearing the fight, until they were both being dragged up off the floor.

"What the hell is going on?" Liam shouted, as he got in the middle of them.

"Sofia stop!" Louis cried, as Sofia fought against him. Emily was fighting against Zayn.

"KNOCK IT OFF!" Liam yelled, as he caught Emily who had broken through.

"STOP IT!" Harry yelled, jumping in, as Sofia broke out of Louis grasp.

"What is going on!?" Danielle yelled, in a voice that caught everyone off guard. Her hands were on her hips as everyone froze.

"Nothing," Sofia spat out.

"This isn't nothing," Liam growled, "You two never fight, what is going on?"

"Emily?" Harry asked, still gripping Sofia hard.

Sofia glared at Emily, a part of her angry, and a part of her hoping that Emily came to her senses enough to not say anything.

"She was hitting on Rob last night," Emily finally said, causing Sofia to let out a small sigh of relief.

"Seriously?" Katie growled, glaring at Sofia.

"I didn't think it was a big deal," Sofia said, shrugging, "After all, they broke up."

"We're not broken up!" Emily snapped, real frustration coming out.

"Are you serious, Sofia?!" Liam barked, "What is the matter with you?!"

Sofia didn't say anything, as Harry glared down at her. He was too angry with her to say anything. But it wasn't her fault he was angry. She had the right to hit on anyone she wanted, his jealously was getting to him.

"I just wish you would think about other people every once in awhile, Sofia," Emily snapped, before pulling out of Louis' grip and storming out of the house. Katie followed her quickly.

"Can we go one day without your bullshit?!" Louis cried out, throwing his hands up in frustration.

Sofia rolled her eyes at him.

"I guess this means I can't leave you alone," Liam said, frustrated.

"Leave me alone?" Sofia asked.

"Louis and I booked a holiday for us and the girls," Liam said, crossing his arms, "Just for a few days."

"Okay?" Sofia said, confused

"We also found the girl," Niall said, "The rest of us were going to go to London to track her down."

"So go," Sofia said, shrugging.

"There's not a chance in hell after last night or this little fight that I'm leaving you to your own devices," Liam spat out.

"You think I need a babysitter?" Sofia growled.

"Act like a child, treated like a child," Liam responded, before sighing heavily.

"We could take her on holiday with us," Danielle said.

"No thanks," Sofia growled, "I don't want to be a part of a couples retreat or a 5th wheel."

"Fine," Liam said, "Then we'll go on holiday. Zayn and Niall will go to London. And Harry, you'll stay here."

"Me?" Harry spat out, looking shocked.

"Harry?!" Sofia squeaked out, looking just as horrified.

"Yes, Harry," Liam said, standing up, "He won't let you get away with shit."

Liam walked out of the room, leaving Sofia with her jaw on the floor.

"I can't believe this," Sofia mumbled to herself.

"I think you two will have fun," Eleanor said quietly, but she had an amused smirk on her face.

"Or just one you survives the weekend," Louis said, "My bets are on Sofia."

"Fuck you," Harry growled.

"I'd bet on me too," Sofia agreed

"That's because you don't know any better," Harry said, narrowing his eyes at her, "Don't push me."

Sofia rolled her eyes as he stomped out of the room.

"Fuck him," Sofia hissed to herself, before walking out the back door.

"I think they might kill each other," Niall said.

"Or fuck each other," Zayn replied.

"Either way, something is bound to happen," Danielle said, "It'll be interesting."

There was no denying that Sofia had done everything she could to push Harry's buttons today. She enjoyed watching him get frustrated, and she was curious about how far she could actually push him. She also couldn't deny she liked arguing with him, there was something in her that enjoyed when he corned her and told her what to do. She enjoyed the look on his face as he fought to stay one step ahead of her quips.

But, for the most part, they had gotten along while alone in the house. It had only been 2 days, but she enjoyed it. They were friends, and she enjoyed his company. It was nice to have him to herself, there was no denying that she was closest to him now a days. As much as they enjoyed fighting, they also enjoyed cooking together, and watching movies. She liked working out with him, and drinking wine in the hot tub.

But she hated the way he bossed her around. Well, she didn't hate it. She actually kind of enjoyed it, but she wanted to make it clear that he was not the boss. Maybe that's why she went out to the party, even though he told her she couldn't. He had good reasons too, Rats were going to be there. And with Niall and Zayn in London, it could put the Suns on edge. And there had been several cases of date rape drugs in the last few weeks, since drugs in the town had gone haywire. He told her she couldn't go. And she hated that he thought she'd do what he said, just because he used that damn voice. So she went.

She told herself it was because she wanted to see Isaac. And she did see him, and she told herself that since he was her only was of feeling like she had control of anything anymore, it was okay. She told herself it was about Isaac, that's what she told Isaac too when he asked her why she had been stupid enough to sneak out. But, really it was about Harry. She wanted to know if Harry cared as much as he said he did. This was a test. And she knew it. She wanted to know if he'd come after her. She hoped he would. She hoped he would figure it out, and drag her out of that party. She wanted to see if he was really that interested in her and how she lived. He said he was, but she wanted to prove it.

So she went to the party. She snuck out that window that Harry and the rest of the boys hated. She went to the party. She saw Isaac. She fought with Emily. And she got drunk. And Harry never showed up. He didn't follow her. He didn't drag her out.

It was obvious, Sofia thought, as she stepped onto the trash can and onto the roof. Harry didn't care.

Sofia slipped through her window, feeling kind of off. She had put a lot of faith in the fact that Harry would come after her, and he didn't. She could help but be disappointed. He disappointed her. Because he said he cared, but he didn't.

"Unbelievable!" a voice roared, as Sofia turned. Harry was sitting on her bed. His arms crossed and his eyes in angry slits. And then he wasn't sitting anymore. He was pacing and he was pissed.

Okay, Sofia thought to herself glancing at the clock. It's 2 am and he's been waiting for me. Maybe he does care. Play it cool.

"Do you know how worried I've been?!" Harry roared, "Do you know how dangerous it is to crawl out that God damn window?!"

"You know I've done it before," she said, rolling her eyes.

"That doesn't make me feel any better, Sofia!" Harry barked, "You're ridiculous! You're out of control! And I for one, have had enough!"

"You're freaking out about nothing, Harry! I'm home. I'm fine. Just let it go."

"LET IT GO?!" Harry screamed, "Are you out of your mind?! You are 16 years old, Sofia! Don't fucking tell me to let it go?!"

"What do you care?!" Sofia yelled back, and she needed to know the answer, "You're not my father or brother!"

"No, but you know I care," Harry said, "And I'll be damned if I let you destroy yourself!"

"It was party, Harry," Sofia said rolling her eyes.

"It was alleyway, Harry. It was just a fight, Harry. It was a party, Harry," Harry mimicked her, "ENOUGH ALREADY! I'VE HAD ENOUGH!"

"What are you going to do?" Sofia hissed, she was baiting him again, "Tell on me?"

"No," Harry said, shaking his head, before sitting on his bed, "I'm not going to tell on you. Because I don't need Liam's permission to punish you. I don't need his input, or his directions. I can deal with you."

"Okay," Sofia said, shrugging, "Go ahead, throw me around. Deal with me. It's not going to change anything."

Harry bit his lip, he had to choose his next words and actions carefully. He didn't want to scare her, he didn't want to hurt her. He didn't want to push her away. So he had to be careful about what he was going to do next. Because, even if Sofia didn't know it, he was pretty sure it was going to change everything.
