The two boys woke side by side in Josh's bed. They had fallen asleep on the couch, and woken up in the middle of the night just to move into the actual bed. The love for each other hung in the air like a crib's mobile that spins throughout the nights. Although they laid facing away from each other, their hearts clung together in the center of the bed. It was content. It was happiness. The worries, of course, were still there, but the worries were only out of love.

When Tyler first woke, he turned to face Joshua, who laid on the right side of the bed (away from the window). He traced pictures on Joshua's back that was covered in a baby pink t-shirt. After about a minute of this, Josh woke. He immediately grinned, feeling the touch of his love. Tyler noticed the way Josh sighed to himself, and knew he was awake. They still laid in silence, with Tyler tracing the pictures on Joshua's back. It was undiluted happiness. Nothing came between them in this time.

After about half an hour of tracing pictures, Josh turned to Tyler showing his wrinkly grin. It made Tyler swell in glee. They wrapped each other in their arms, like a sleeping bag of skin and bones. It warmed both of the boys up more than the blanket ever could. It made them physically content, and created an even larger well-being internally. The sighs of happiness were passed between the boys. Throughout this entire time neither of them ever exchanged words, because the touch of the skin said so much more than their lips could.

Tyler's stomach rumbled after laying there for what felt so quick, but was about an hour. Josh laughed and rubbed Tyler's stomach. It ticked Tyler, and caught him up in the giggles along with Joshua.

"Is my boy hungryyy?" Josh said, making a pouting face to Tyler.

"It is a basic human function, Joshua." Tyler said, flirtatiously pushing Joshua off of him.

"No, baby, stay here. I'll be back in 10." Josh rushed out of bed, and into the bathroom across from the bedroom. He came out in about a minute, fully dressed and looking more gathered.

He held up a finger as if to say wait and grabbed his keys and rushed out of the apartment. Tyler felt lonely as soon as the door closed, and he didn't know how Josh had rushed so abruptly out of the home. Tyler decided to not allow the anxiety get the best of him, and he would lay there like Josh told him to. For ten minutes. And if he wasn't back in ten minutes, Tyler would begin to panic and call Joshua more times than Josh could ever imagine someone doing.

And in nine minutes, Josh was back. Holding warm donuts. It was a mystery to Tyler. Did he have a doughnut dealer? The effort was still heavily appreciated by Tyler, and Josh seemed out of breath. Tyler wandered out of the bed, and into the kitchen. Josh set down the donuts on the table, and gestured to them.

"How do they look, love? I hope you like this kind."

"Amazing." Tyler rushed up and embraced Josh into a tight hug. Josh at first was taken back by the strong grip of Tyler, but hugged him back just as tight, and maybe tighter.

Josh kissed Tyler on his forehead, and separated their bodies, but not their souls. He handed Tyler a plate, and got one for himself.

After serving the two boys two donuts each, they sat once again on the couch watching The Office. It was developing into a new tradition every meal. There was a whole nine seasons, and they were only on the first. Even when they finished, the comedy in the show was absolutely timeless.

They sat there innocently. Together. Unaware of the future, and what it may hold. Even in that day, they would find out secrets about each other that would either make or break the boys. But they sat on the couch for now. Content.

Jubilant.
