hello, my name is aaija smith. i'm 21 years old. i am a senior, i attend aldephi university. i'm majoring in psychology. i plan on being a social worker, guidance counselor, or a journalist, something like that. i just want to spread positivity. i've been in new york all my life, born and raised from queens. now i'm in new york city, new york. after graduation i plan on moving to atlanta, georgia. i've never really had a problem with my skin tone, but i guess other people do. i believe there's nothing wrong with me. my mom tells me i'm absolutely beautiful and i was born for a reason. when i was little she used to say, "chile', if you weren't supposed to be here the angels in heaven above wouldn't have the lord send you to me. don't go for what others think of you. believe in your heart." and from that i did. i ignore ignorance, i have to remind myself at times to not touch anyone unless they put their hands on me. it hurts though. why do people just look in color?

can't nobody love somebody, that do not love themselves. you are what you choose to be, its not up to noone else. be great, be kind, don't let them dim your light. 'cause a woman, like the sun, should always stay bright. -kehlani
