Broken Solitude [Lapidot]

Forcefully Forgotten

-Jasper's POV-

"You got some explaining to do Peridot" I said sternly

"A-about what?"

"About Lapis, that's what"

Peridot turns her head away from me

"She told us that you seemed like you didn't know her, why?"

She doesn't respond, but she seemed to shake

I walk towards her, reaching out a hand to put on her shoulder

"Peridot, answer me-"

She turns around before I reach her, with anger embedded in her eyes, and teeth clenched

"Fine, you wanna know why? It's because that girl WAS my friend until SHE decided that it would be better if she said she wasn't my friend, just for her advancements on her boyfriend Jake"

I stand in silence as I listen to her

"She did this, I trusted her as my friend, I even fell for her, but she took that trust and crushed it"

We stay frozen, not saying a word to each other, it's almost the same as before

I then turn around and walk away, I need to talk to Lapis

-Lapis' POV-

We all ate in silence, waiting for Jasper to come back

What did she mean by 'again'?

After a while we see Jasper walk back towards us

"Jasper! Did you find Peri" I ask

"I did"

"Where was she?" Pearl asks

"She was eating on the roof, alone"

After some thinking, I decide to ask Jasper a question

"Jasper, what did you mean earlier by 'again'?"

She tenses up and then looks at me

"I guess... I guess I can tell you since this is happening to you, it was two years ago..."

-Two years ago-
-3rd POV-

The day after Peridot confessed to Ace, she avoided Ace all together, and did so for the next few days

Then one faithful day, Ace tried to speak to Peridot, wanting to apologize

"Peridot, I want to say I'm sorry for what I said the other day, can we be friends again?"

At first she wanted to accept, but what she said, stung

There's no way she could accept

Peridot just looked at Ace and said

"Who are you?"

Ace looked shocked at Peridot

"P-Peri, it's me, Ace! Remember?"

"Sorry but I don't recall knowing a person named Ace"

"No... how could you forget..."

"Look, I'm sorry if I don't remember you, but I'm going to be late if I don't get going"

And so Peridot walked away from Ace, who just looked distraught, but Peridot had a tear in her eye

Somewhere nearby, was Jasper, watching at the event happen

-Back to the present-
-Lapis' POV-

"And that's the story" Jasper says, finishing off the story

We all sat there, equally shocked, but different expressions on our faces

I'm going to fix this with Peridot, no matter what
