Preference! When You're Upset

Keith(The Listener): Seeing you upset makes him nervous, and often times he freezes and is unable to say anything. But, if you're open about your feelings and tell him what's on your mind, he does something that you would never expect him to: he listens. With his arms folded and his body leaning against a wall is there is one, he'll listen to you pour your heart out with a worried and frantic expression. Even if you stammer on for hours about something, he'll wait until every word is out and you're ready to stop. Once everything is off your chest, he'll pull you into a tight hug. He may not be able to give the best advice in the world, but dang can he listen.

Lance(The Distracter): If something is bothering you, he often freezes up like Keith. He doesn't like to see you upset either. But unlike his red paladin friend, he know that sometimes the best way to get over something is to distract you from it. He'll hold you for a few minutes while you're crying, and then as soon as you start to relax he'll take your hand and with a kind smile do something fun with you. Anything, as long as it makes you laugh and forget your troubles even for a while, for what he loves most about you is your laugh.

Hunk(The Comforter): If you're upset, Hunk's upset, which means he's going to do anything to get you to cheer up. You might think giving you food is the first thing he'll do, but if you're someone special to him he goes farther than that. After listening to you talk about what's bothering you, the next day you ight find a couple of sweet and encouraging notes addressed to you on your nightstand. He'll also leave small, insignificant things around the ship for you to find that will make you smile, such as trinkets he's picked up from missions, with little encouraging notes attached to them. Sometimes when you pick these up, you'll see someone in a green and yellow outfit standing just out of your eyesight, smiling softly as you awe over what he did for you. For Hunk, it's not the big grandiose things that matter, but the small, precious things that do.

Pidge(The Doer): She's not an expert in dealing with emotions, so when you're upset she's a little confused sometimes at what to do. If you try to pour out your feelings to her, she might back and shut off, not because she doesn't care but because she doesn't know what to say or do in the moment. Most of the time, this makes you angry at first, causing you to stomp off. By the next morning though, you'll slowly start to notice something is different. If someone had been bothering you the day before, you'll notice that they've stopped talking to you, and possibly are afraid of you. If something was bugging you around the house, you'll either notice that it's fixed or gone. Asking around you'll realize something: Pidge fixed it. The person who annoyed you is now afraid of you because Pidge made them scared. The thing around the castle bugging you is now missing or fixed, because Pidge took care of it. She may not be able to give the best advice and freak out when emotion is involved, but whatever it is she'll take care of it.

Shiro(The Patient One): Shiro has been through quite a lot of crap in his life (#savespacedad2k17 #bringbackspacedad2k17 SORRY HAD TO DO IT), so seeing you go through some of your own makes him hurt just as much as you do. As you spill what's upsetting you to him, he listens intently and patiently, even as you stammer and trip over your words constantly. Once all of them are out, he wraps an arm around your waist and pulls you in, letting you release all the pent up tension that's been building. He'll stroke your shoulder, play with your hair, and even kiss your forehead a couple of times to help you relax. As Shiro knows it, sometimes someone just needs to be held for a while to know everything is going to be alright.

Allura(The Counsellor): Even if it's something incredibly silly and stupid, she takes into consideration every feeling you might have about the issue. She'll listen to you blabber on about it, and then with the wisdom of ten-thousand years and more give you the best advice on what you should do. Not only that, but she always seems to know exactly what to say to make you feel better, whether it's an encouraging statement or soft words of wisdom. It never ceases to amaze you how much her simple words can lighten even the heaviest of heart, especially when it's your heart.

Coran(The All In One): With age comes understanding and knowledge, and with Coran he knows. He knows what to say, do, how to help, and how to take care of things whenever you're upset. He'll listen to you while you stammer, hold you while you break down, and will say the right thing to brighten your day when you just can't see past the dark. He'll distract you with a silly smile, and with kind words lead you back to a place where you can breathe again. And no matter what, you'll never have to worry about him one day disappearing. As loyal as he is, he'll always be there when you need him, no matter what.
