So we're doing a science project that's like create a creature. And there's a bunch of boring stuff but here's the creature!

o it's called a Bellaphant (bell - ih - fawnt), and it is actually pretty cool.
So, it is like 2 feet tall and very rare (in this world I am making up), not because there aren't many of them, but because hiding is their thing. In my world, there is no light in caves. So, they blend in well except for their eyes. So their defenses: (1) their antennae are very sensitive to air movement, so they can know the general spot of everything within like ten feet just by feeling, even while flying. (2) they can hear things coming in the cave from about a mile away. (3) their wings are very powerful, so they can fly straight up if need be. (4) if stuck, they find a corner and shut their eyes, blending in with the rocks. (5) if a predator comes too close and probably knows they're there, the Bellaphant uses its antennae to sense the predator coming near and opens its eyes to startle the predator and buy some time. Finally, (6) if all else fails, they can fight with their trunk and teeth.
They are not naturally hostile, so if you find one or a whole group of them (rare for more than two together), they will not attack unless cornered. In my world, people have had them as pets before.
