She couldn't breathe. Her heart was racing and tears fell freely against her will. She couldn't couldn't believe how much it hurt to see him, yet unable to love him how he should be loved.

She leaned against the window pane, her head against the cool glass. It was welcomed relief against her heated skin. She had reached out. Thought he would take her hand, but he didn't. Instead he kissed her on the forehead then her cheeks where the many tears fell. She hated that she was crying, but the tears wouldn't stop.

He was saying something, but she couldn't hear it. It was the same thing every time they became close again.

She slumped against the wall and slowly down to the floor. Pulling her legs towards her, hugging them close to her body. She buried her head in between her legs and let the sobs begin. The kind of sobs that rocked her entire body.

This was it. She couldn't feel so defeated  anymore. It was always the same thing. He'd pull her close. The chemistry electric. But he backed away.

Again.

He backed away for the last time.
